IF the Mizzou to SEC scenario happens, could be a boost for them landing DGB because of the hype that would be surrounding the move. However, one should consider the increase in the L column that will undoubtably follow.

the people not giving us a shot tend to think he wont go that far from home, despite the fact that we keep making his cut and he rarely speaks about his recuritment, i.e. they just assume UA has no shot since they are far away.

the playing time will be there for him at Bama. would probably start his freshman year with our top 2 WR's leaving along with Gibson. But i think he chooses OK or Mizzou

I tend to agree, but I wouldn't count Arkansas out yet. Both schools run pass-happy O's and he would thrive at either, IMO.

I don't think that's it so much as the style of O we run. At Ark or OU he'll have the chance to catch 80-100 balls a season, here he'll be doing good if he get the ball 50 times AND he will be asked to block a lot more in the run game. That being the case, I think most folks think he'll end up at one of those places. Of course, when you have a coach like Nick that could sell ice to eskimos, you never know and we still have a shot....

I bet the same stories were told to Julio Jones. I don't think that hurt his draft stock any...

Julio was very special and a very unselfish player--which is to say he was the exception and not the rule. Also, Julio grew up in Alabama and as an Alabama fan. I'm not saying we have no chance with DGB, I'm just saying he will be a very tough pull, and I think the recruiting gurus on here have said as much already.

Bama's offense will have him more Pro ready when he leaves college..WR's need to be excellent blockers on the next level..But..I can understand him wanting to have huge receiving yrds thrown his way..We shall see..

He will thrive wherever he winds up IMHO, he's just that kind of talent.

Not sure that a pro style offense has ever hurt a WR's draft stock. Spreads however....

If he waits until signing day then there will be some fairly accurate mock drafts available. I think once he sees that Bama is going to put 4-6 players in the first round (granted they will be on the defensive side of the ball), it might give us a leg up. Lets face it, kids want a pipeline school to the NFL. If Julio can have a monster rookie season, that will also boost our chances. If he's quiet about his recruitment then he's being smart about it. We can offer him the ability to become a very well rounded player, not just yardage. Clearly Julio wasnt drafted so high because of his numbers. He's the total package at WR. DGB can become the same.
