Re: ***DL Quinton Dial commits to Bama***

Great News.

Funny thing is about a month ago Dial was quoted by TI as saying he had not really given much thought to the recruiting process and said he would commit on signing day.

A couple of days ago TI had an article on the recruits that would be attending this weekend's camp. Dial did say Alabama was number one with him, but he said there is no truth to the rumors that he was about to commit to Alabama.

It's good to have Dial go ahead and commit.

Dial chose Bama over Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, and Clemson.

Big DL Dial commits to Tide
Dial, a 6-foot-5, 315-pound standout, informed Alabama defensive coach Kevin Steele of his intentions this morning. He becomes the seventh pledge to the Tide's 2009 class and the fifth projected lineman.

"They're getting a great one," Clay-Chalkville coach Brent Smith said. "He's a big kid, can move around for his size. He's a good individual, probably one of the more popular kids in the school. When I say that, I mean among the students and teachers. They all love him. He's just a good kid. He hasn't been playing football but a few years. There's no telling how good he could possibly turn into being. He's still in the learning process."

Quinton Dial, another very large recruit, commits to Alabama...
"We took him to Florida and when we left, he told me that Alabama was better across the board in the things he was looking for in a school," defensive coordinator Lynn Elkins told BamaOnLine.com. "He loved the school and the coaches and he has really enjoyed himself when he has came for visits or camps. Quinton has more potential than any kid I have ever coached, and I have coached Willie Wyatt, Sidell Corley and D.J. Fluker. When Quinton learns how to play hard on every down, he will be unstoppable."

He must be in the top 2-3 at his position or the staff couldn't afford to let him commit this early with the limited scholarships available. Coach Elkins gave an impressive endorsement and playing hard every down is a CNS speciality. Good enough for me.

I just love the size of the D-Linemen CNS recruits. A few more classes of these monsters and Bama will have the most feared D-Line in football!
