I think you went a little overboard here. He's good like you say, but I would not want Michael frickin' Dyer at Bama. Ever. That's just my opinion, of course.

Right now, the barn has the look and feel of a program that's imploding - not shocking since they hired a 5-19 coach who (regardless of the means used) caught lightning in a bottle last year. I honestly don't see them being much better next year, most likely with a big staff turnover they'll actually be worse. He's the only stud they've got and he got what, three carries in the Iron Bowl? That shows a lot of faith, doesn't it? If Dyer stays and things keep going down the drain, his stock will go DOWN.

He could step down a division and play next year. He's already proven himself to be a first class back that would start anywhere in the SEC but Bama (and he'd get a pile of reps with the Tide). If he goes to a quality DII program like UNA, he will almost certainly have a huge year - which will only help his draft status. Don't you know it would make Tater Tot's day to gain a great back and hurt the barn at the same time!


It is a rumor, but this one might have some legs...

I agree

kid is a seriously good back. If he didn't have the Walt Williams/Gus baggage I would love to have him at Bama.

He had some decent runs against us the other day. I turned to my aub brother in law during the game after a 7-8 yard run by dyer and said. "I'm glad your coaches are too stupid to keep giving him the ball" and he just looked sad.

Dyer would start at any school in the SEC other than us and maybe lsu.

I hope he transfers

after only getting 12 carries against us he should be upset
 
Dyer is one of the best backs in the conference (I'd argue only behind TR and a healthy Lattimore). Much like Ole Miss is where coaches go to kill their careers, I think the barn with Gus as OC is where RB's go to waste.

Well, assuming the character was there.

As it stands, no, wouldn't want him, but would love his talent if he had the right attitude / work ethic.
 
I will remain unconvinced he is going anywhere until I see him practicing at another school. The barn will pay whatever is necessary to keep him happy. The barn has learned from their previous mistakes how to "keep it down home cus".

Look at the entire paragraph.

The gamble, of course, is that a national championship will buy Chizik enough time for his long-range plan to blossom. He's the among the safest coaches in America right now, but will a below-average season in 2012 spawn a movement to move him?

He clarifies the "safest in America" with the national championship. Look at the last part. Jay G knows that poor performance in 2012 will turn the heat up on that seat.

Good news for Dyer, he can move on after Auburn, but Gus is stuck with Kristi.
 
Dyer leaving? I don't see it. Auburn's OL will have another year's experience next year; they should be better. The Dyer-McCallebb combination is potent now against most defenses and will be better in 2012. I'm glad the current coaches didn't rely on them more.

It was started by a Aub beat writer that heard Dyer make a comment that included "if i come back next year." Numerous radio personalities are acting like that they also have inside info that he may leave after this year. Some of these radio personalities are not the rumor spreading type of guys either.

Mosely, Greene and Cooper are seniors; I'm pretty sure at least 2 of those 3 started some of the year, and they all 3 might have, but I don't follow barn football so I don't know for sure. If they all 3 started, then the barn has 2 - 3 returning starters with decent experience. Those are highly regarded players, to be sure, but under the circus master run-blocking ain't what they do.
Any rb who wants to play for GM is an idiot, IMO, because he ain't ever gonna be what he could be at any school that runs a real offense. JMO
