Exactly right about the in-state recruiting. I've always been amazed at how the Barn was able to pull in good players from FL and GA. That was the case long before Wingnut showed up.

Regarding Petrino to the Barn, I really really doubt he leaves Atlanta after one year. But let's say he does. Look at what that does to the Barn's already sad recruiting year. He'd be able to recover next year but I think this year is in the crapper.

Personally, I'm not too concerned who the Barn may hire because Bama has Saban. If the Barn hires the best darn coach in the country (they can't cuz we already did), I say "bring it on". If we're going to be the BEST, let's go head to head and prove it!

Petrino probably won't leave the Falcons for AU. AU isn't a gig worthy of burning pro football bridges, is it? I could see Petrino leaving ATL for someone like Michigan, but not AU.

FAYETTEVILLE - A Northwest Arkansas television station and a weekly news magazine's Web site reported Thursday night that Auburn Coach Tommy Tuberville will be named the next head football coach at Arkansas.

A source close to Tuberville said late Thursday that a deal had not been struck.

Arkansas Business' online site and KNWATV of Fayetteville cited "multiple"anonymous sources as saying Tuberville will be the next Arkansas head coach.

Tuberville, who will be back in Auburn around lunchtime today, said he was incredulous when he learned after emerging from the woods Thursday night of the reports flooding out of Arkansas that he was on the verge of agreeing to become the Razorbacks' coach.

And to further this.... It has 100% been confirmed as possbile rumor. We are awaiting more words from John who overheard Bubba at the 7-11 who works as a Janitor for Arkansas who sleeps in the overhead garage apartment of of a recently graduated football player that is in contract negotiations with Jimmy Sexton that is also sleeping with his Secretary that he might have heard a phone call while awaiting a signature on his huge contract that was possibly from Tubberville's secretary that he is looking for a house in the Fayetteville area. One of my sister's students in Orlando goes to church where the priest said that while on a sabatical in Birmingham he was approached by a big time agent from the Birmingham area and he thinks might be an agent for one of Tubberville's assistants also rep's Herb Winches who has confirmed these rumors and now upgrades it to 110% assuredness that he might know what he is talking about!:biggrin2::eek2::biggrin::wink::rolleye2:

agreed...so glad it's not us..much less stressful to watch other people go through it....and if it's the barn, i might even enjoy it.
