I'm sorry but calling opening week "Week 0" is the same kind of counting that has 10 teams in the Big 12 and fourteen in the Big 10.
Not to sound overly sensitive but I feel like they call it that cause none of the games are worth watching. I don't understand why they don't put one Big Marquee game on that weekend. No one is interested in vandy vs hawaii. I know its football but it's just the truth

Yeah, and nothing like folks who broadcast the games telling us, "These contests aren't worth urine in a jug BUT, hey, college football!!"

I like the Bama-Utah State Game at 6:30 on 9/3 to maybe beat some heat, but also because evening/night games at Bryant Denny always seem to have a different atmosphere of fun. I used to think that was due to all-day imbibing vs half day (self included) but I don’t see near as much of that these days and the games that start later In the day still seem to be more fun to attend (or watch on TV).
Looking at a Utah St pre season write up, they look like a good Mountain West team. They were 11-3 last year and won the LA Bowl over Oregon St. Lot of returnees from that team.
Utah St players may not be accustomed to our muggy humidity. That might be a factor in the 2nd half.

I recall opening day 1998. BYU visited Bryant-Denny, which was the first game after the East upper deck and original jumbotron scoreboard was built/installed. We won 38-31, Shaun Alexander scored 5 TDs, but from memory both teams had about the same amount of players falling out with cramps. It was a very humid evening.

Of course.... Nick Saban off season conditioning is a bit of a different animal than Mike DuBose's.

It’s nuts how much saban changed the standard in college football. All due respect to the 1999 and 02 teams and their players. But growing up I thought those teams were so awesome. I went back and watched them recently and it was kind of rough. Just a plethora of self inflicted mistakes and dumb playcalling.

This has been my go to schedule for a few years. Concise with lots of info and regenerates itself every week. Remember all times are MT. https://web.nmsu.edu/~ogden/oregon/MY_tv_schedule.php
Don't you just love it when an academician commits plagiarism? This page is a DIRECT import of the lsufootball.net website. In fact if you look at the page's source code you see this:

Code:
<!--
#<head><base href="http://lsufootball.net">er {display:none;}
// -->
</style>
</<head><base href="http://lsufootball.net">>
I use that page as one of the resources of information I refer to each week when putting my TV schedule together, but it is absolutely not a cut and paste or direct import like the nmsu professor's page! Bookmark and go directly to the lsufootball.net site instead of the nmsu page.

(My guess is that the prof put it together for his own use rather than trying to plagiariaze, but the effect - now that it's out in the wild - is the same).

I remember a game from the 70's playing Washington in Tuscaloosa early in Sept. Must have been 100 on the playing surface and 90% humidity. Their cheerleaders ran out with the team, and they were wearing turtleneck long sleeved sweaters with a big W on the front (seems like). I turned to the person next to me and said "they've had it."
