Unbelievable! Screaming out in agony over a freakin' dead tree? This is what some people have to do with their time.

Strange!

Jeff,

You must've had a "slow" news day! Or just getting tired of the "doom and gloom" of the left and right? :)

...and the trees replied "Hey, keep it down, wouldya? I'm trying to get some rest here."

'Spose we should post up a video of a Klan rally under the heading, "Patriotic Americans celebrate freedom from agitators and rabble-rousers."

What... the... heck??!

I bet they're from Carrboro. This town has the most hippies I've ever seen.

ROFL... my wife just walked in from work and she had a real confused look on her face and she said, "Umm... do they know the trees can't hear them?..."

I like a good tree as much as another. But my question to these nuts would be
"do you know how many cotton boles it took to make your Tee Shirts and pull over sweats"?
And, I`m also certain that they did not walk that deep in the forest without shoes that some animal or rubber tree gave their life for, and I can almost guarantee that someone had to drive them up there using gasoline if they were barefooted, `cause they might have walked a mile or two, but they certainly did not walk a hundred miles barefooted.
Freaks! I hope they are proud of embarrasing the human race.

As I look back on my childhood I realize that some of my happiest memories are of climbing trees. I would climb anything, but elms were my favorite. Once I crawled under those low hanging limbs it was like I had my own ready-made fort, complete with easily climb-able ramparts. Woe unto the cousin who trod upon my territory without the proper clearance, for he (or she) would be pelted with my imported cache of pine cones. Oh yes, there were some fierce battles. And afterward we would eat too much and then play some more. I loved trees then and to this day they still occupy a spot in my heart.

But if decide to put in a pool the grand ol' oak tree in my yard will be a casualty. Life's tough.

I like trees too.

My dad has 400 acres of timber property in NE Miss. On the last clear cut about ten years ago, I got a little windfall from the proceeds and the first thing I did was take the future Mrs. VJ out to Shula's Steakhouse where I devoured a nice tasty filet minon. I burned gasoline (fossil fuels) getting her picked up and carted to the restaurant.

It is what it is. :(

Everything in moderation, gentlemen. There are whackos on both sides, without question. But the trees are beautiful, and necessary for our survival on this planet. I little reverence is not out of place, sometimes. Respect is appropriate at all times....
