ESPN Alabama special

Okay now its started so far, A. Caldwell, R. Johnson, and JPW. For whatever reason they talked about the Arkansas, Georgia, and ULM game, but just completely forgot about the Tennessee game. And Herbie said some good stuff about us.

OK, now that you caught it, how about a little synopsis? :D

LOL. It was pretty short but mainly about the change in attitude since the last season. He made mention of seniors on the team telling him how the year before they would have never won the Arkansas game, they would have never felt like they could have.
he felt that was a turning point for alot of players on the team.

Several players mentioned to him they wanted to do what he wanted them to do but just weren't sure how to, they've come along way and he doesn't see many like that anymore. ( or something similar to that and they were getting their identity together)

Rashad mentioned they were getting a mentality of Alabama will dictate the way teams play us and not vice versa.

Caldwell had something to say also but I missed what he had to say.

Rashad said that they are trying to get back to the days when other teams looked ahead on the schedule and said man I don't want to have to play those guys. I believe the term used was swagger! Good stuff.

Caldwell's comments were about conditioning. He said that most programs he's been through you got used to. You knew what was expected and you did what you had to do. However, he said you never get used to this program it always pushes you.

Antoine said that with CNS's program, the players work hard but never get used to the conditioning so it's like there's no finish point. Before CNS, the players would run & stuff and get to a point where they felt like they were conditioned. Not that way with CNS. Apparently there's always more challenge. It's a good thing.:)

Hoo ahh.

When was the last time that happened on a consistent basis?

1996?

It just serves to illustrate how Alabama had stopped being Alabama for the better part of this decade. Sure, they had on the crimson jerseys, but they weren't Alabama, as we know it, especially those of us who grew up in the Bryant era. Thank goodness that's changing. I believe it won't be long before other teams do dread playing us again.

I saw the All Access thing, but I don't think they re-aired whatever Herbie said. Did he give a prediction or something?

CNS' program is one that ALWAYS takes your body to the point of fatigue. It changes to keep the player's body in a "always getting stronger, faster, more conditioned" mode. It does not plateau out. It's a constant climb upward. It's mighty tough.
