Hunter has been hearing from a few prospects in Orlando committed to the schools from which he's choosing; safety and ESPN's No. 1-rated athlete Will Hill is committed to Florida and defensive end Courtney Upshaw switched his commitment from Auburn to Alabama.
"I talk to Will Hill, he and I got real close and he talks about Florida and he likes it," Hunter said. "I talked to Courtney Upshaw and he was committed to Auburn. He has told me some things about Auburn that will help."
The Spartanburg Herald-Journal has only one article with any info about McClain. Guess what? It says nothing about Alabama.Four visits lined up for UA All-American Antoine McClain
Offensive tackle Antoine McClain is scheduled to official visit Clemson on Jan. 11th, travel to Tennessee on Jan. 18th, check out Auburn on Jan. 25th, and take in the scene at LSU on Feb. 1st, the Spartanburg Herald-Journal reports. Alabama also appears to still be in the mix for the coveted Under Armour All-American lineman.
OL Antoine McClain (6-6 294) of Anniston, AL has not heard from any recruiters over the holiday break so nothing has changed with his recruiting plans for January. His four visits remain the same....Clemson on the 11th, Tennessee on the 18th, Auburn on the 25th and LSU February 1st. McClain said all four schools are equal with him.
Maybe Julio will go to Ole Miss where Nutt will change his Wild Hog offense to a Runnin' Rebel offense. Nutt may tell Julio that he can play QB and WR so he can throw the ball to himself. It would be easy to win a Heisman if he got credit for both the passing and receiving yardage. That Nutt really is a brainiac. :biggrin2:i watched the interview with julio jones, and then i watched texas tech play. and then i started thinking about, what if i was the top receiver in the country of all the teams he has listed to take visits to, what have they to offer me, and my desire to be the best. well, we all know to be the best, you have to play the best. texas tech showed me absolutely nothing. they are like hawaii. the cant win the big games in the big 12. they spread their passing to 10 different receivers, including a lot of passes to backs. would this be attractive to julio? fla state: they are now in a lot of hurt, with their academic woes, and looking more and more like coaching confusion. they have a option qb coming in with ej emanuel, a real good pass, run qb. again, would he shine there. i dont see the type of schools on his list that would attract me. of course being from alabama, and the spread offense a big possibility there, he would get a lot of opportunities, once we get a solid offensive line. forget auburn, they are going in a new direction with their so called option, spread offense. julio is going to need a good passing qb, whatever the offense.
Would the TDs count twice too?Maybe Julio will go to Ole Miss where Nutt will change his Wild Hog offense to a Runnin' Rebel offense. Nutt may tell Julio that he can play QB and WR so he can throw the ball to himself. It would be easy to win a Heisman if he got credit for both the passing and receiving yardage. That Nutt really is a brainiac. :biggrin2:
Tom Luginbill is from Torrey Pines High School in San Diego, CA. His father was Al Luginbill, the HC at San Diego State. He is a Recruiting Analyst with Scouts Inc. and ESPN Insider.heard him on Paul Finebaum yesterday--he has Bama rated at #9 in recruiting.
why is there so much disparity between him and Rivals-Scout I wonder. He has Miami #1.
He also said that he thinks JJ will make his announcement using his service Feb. 6th. aLso says outside the state of Bama there isn't so strong a talk of him going to Bama.
Take this for what it's worth
have an elephant size day!!!
Wreck Ramblin on Tom LuginbillPaid by various "services," these football hookers whisper whatever their pimp tells them. Among those this humble scribe detests is Tom Luginbill, ESPN's recruiting analyst. His self-written biography that appears as one of his articles, wherein he discusses the recruiting "wars" he endured, is hilarious as it offers a peek inside an ego that makes Ted Turner appear humble.
Older Tech fans will recognize this name from the QB controversy Bill Lewis ignited on the Flats, which divided the team. When Bill left and George came in, Tom saw the writing on the wall (or had it read to him) and transferred.
Don't ask, as that's all I care to say about all that.
Here's his story, in his own words (which leaves out some dirty laundry).

Luginbill now works for a recruiting information service.
He seems to have had a little trouble staying in a coaching job longer than a year, for some reason.
Probably not a good sign.
