ESPN Reporting Fisher to Aggieland

Jimbo has to be wondering "What I have done? What can I do to get fired without cause?"

Re: Jimbo Fischer

This hire makes me nervous. There is some baggage there, and since Sumlin's team has his fingerprints all over it, there will be an adjustment period. But, Jimbo is dangerous. I just hope that somehow Nick Saban can slowly suffocate him in the same way he did to LSU and Les Miles.

It makes me nervous too. No former Saban assistant has ever beaten him. This could change in the coming years with Jimbo and Kirby. I hope not.

Agreed, Texas is a great recruiting ground in it's own. Recruiting wasn't bad at A&M. However , Jimbo in my opinion will provide a more of a national allure in name concept alone and will pay dividends to them just in that regard itself

Crazy A&M fans aside, the perfect part of this marriage is money. Texas A&M has more money than just about anything else, and Jimbo wanted money more than anything else. So here is one of the richest schools (not exaggerating, their endowment puts them at 8th but only two universities ahead that care the at all about athletics), and here's someone desperate to spend their money. It's kind of scary when a school that's almost ten times richer than Alabama comes along and goes "here spend our money".

Having said that, it is still the state of Texas and there will be strings attached. They'll expect immediate results.

Hey, I love dogs. I think people that don't are strange.

This is way over the line from "dogs are awesome" to "my dog and I are sharing an ice cream". Please tell me it's true, because I would just love to laugh at them this much.

Didn't think there were people that would think this won't work.

Biggest hire in the SEC since Saban.

They'll win games, and compete for titles. Question is can he beat Saban.

When you get someone of that pedigree in a big splash move, the momentum in recruiting will be immediate. Also he can do no wrong in the first few seasons, so the clock starts over and baggage is gone.

Plus, the pantry isn't bare. They will get better quickly.

Our league is about to officially be a cut above the rest in coming years. Of course not just because of this move

It is like the dog is some sort of witch doctor giving his blessing to Jimbo.

"What's that, girl? Jimbo's in the wealth?

"And in his 10th year of wealth, he'll coach against somebody other than Saban at 'Bama? And it'll be just like old times in the ACC?

"Bark once for Dabo..."
