Link: ESPN suspends Le Batard for Lebron/Miami billboards prank.

He's the same one who continues to crucify Saban to this day. He doesn't understand why anyone would leave the paradise of Miami. :rolleye2: Maybe he'll learn, but I doubt it.

Ugh. Hate being placed in the uncomfortable position of defending a schmuck, who apparently has a sense of humor, over his fascist PC employers, who obviously do not.

Maybe if he did it on their time, with their advance knowledge (and obviously tacit approval) it would be ok. Oh, the irony...............

Le Batard is just living up (down?) to his name.
I've no time for that guy, after his coming unhinged because CNS left Miami. He was unprofessional, silly and uncomprehending. Then again, he's a journalist, so I guess it goes with the territory.

I'm certain he mocked Cleveland fans when they were outraged that LeBron left the Cavaliers for Miami. And his being miffed that LeBron didn't mention Miami fans in his letter of thanks? Miami fans rarely stayed for the duration of any of Miami's games, especially when they were losing. Miami fans are the worst sports fans on the planet, and Le Batard is one of the worst "sports writers" on the planet.

Joakim Noah approves of this post:

When Ricky Williams left the Dolphins just before the 2004 season with a tale that he didn't need football in his search for inner peace, LeBatard bought his reasoning and was one of the only ones buying into his tripe. When in essence Rickey just wanted to do other things with his time that didn't set well with the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Ricky did try to come back and play when the money ran out.

In other words LeBatard's brain is about as fried as Ricky's.

Oooohhhh... Two days. I get LeBatard is really hurt.

ESPN trying to be the winner...
They hire a controversial "journalist"
Controversial journalist does something very mildly controversial.
ESPN acts shocked and suspends him for, basically, a vacation.
They get publicity through their employing this controversial figure - some will undoubtedly think, "Who is that guy?" Then when they are flipping stations on the radio or tv and see/hear that familiar name, they will stick around.
LeBatard gets a break, then comes back to work. Certainly, it doesn't hurt his show or image.

I am no fan/supporter of Le Batard but ESPN is a bane to sports journalism. They have this joker, Bayless and Screamin' A. Smith all employed. With that said, suspending Le Batard for trolling Cleveland is as lame as it gets. There wasn't anything vulgar or disrespectful by that sign just Le Batard being the troll that he is.
