Experience vs Talent

Does anyone think that CNS will use even more blitz packages this year to kind of help out the green secondary? I can't help but think he will. They (secondary) are gonna need all the help they can get, especially early in the season.
In order to blitz you have to iso most of the DBs. High-risk high-reward.

Can anyone give insight to how CNS could simplify the system for some of the new players and how they may impact the ability to defend one type of offense vs, another?

To clarify, I was hoping someone would be able to explain if its possible to focus new players to only a base defense, and use experience in nickel and dime situations, which are more a zone "I think". I was hoping that even if a player didn't have speed he may be able to handle these situations with a lot of success since he would have a specific area of responsibility and less likely to be burned by someone with superior skills. I don't know much about football so no flaming!

Man coverage boils down to technique and understanding when you're in man. Assuming you have the talent to play for Alabama, if you can "route" the receiver and make a late break on the ball, you can be successful in man coverage.

Zone coverage means understanding your responsibility, for every eventuality, in your assigned area of the field. If we have broken coverages this year, it will likely be because one or more of the DBs thinks we're in one coverage, when everyone else is playing another coverage. You can't be playing the flat in cover 2 when the other DBs think we're playing cover 3 or man press.

As far as base, nickel or dime goes, we can have man or zone coverage out of every defensive set.

It also depends on what you define a "blitz" as. When we play the base 3-4, we could "blitz" a linebacker from any position; we'd still be bringing a 4 man pass rush.

If we can get good pressure on the QBs with 4 players, the secondary will be extremely grateful.
