Alabama: Fall Practice Reports

I heard that as well. I have no idea what that means in terms of how they are progressing, but it doesn't sound bad. He also said he heard from multiple reliable sources that Russell would be the starter and from separate reliable sources that Mack would be the starter. To me, that's pretty interesting. I just hope a starter is decided upon before camp closes. I do wonder if they are neck and neck in terms of play then whether who is getting paid the most factors into the decision. It certainly happens at the pro level.
Maybe CKD is going mob-boss style to snuff out his rats

(More likely, he said something like, "If the season started today..." on different days)

Nothing against Austin Mack, like many have said, we can win with either one, but if Mack has been in this system for four years and took say 25% first team reps last season, and Grubb says it's even right now, I believe that means Keelon is the guy, just my opinion

Good point. And I think you're right....money will figure in. Which you'd have to think would augur for Russell.

Also the old-school thought that, if two players are equal, you play the younger one because he has more time to develop. Not always true with today's portal and NFL draft process, but I do think there's still something to it.

I don't think it came from DeBoer or any of the coaches. Jimmy said it came from sources very close to the program who are around the facility all the time. I believe the wording he used was "A-level sources who are usually correct about 90% of the time. I think he asked all of his sources to make their prediction and they were split on the answer based on what they've been seeing.

I'm going to choose to believe it means we're deciding between a Lamborghini and a Ferrari. 😎

I tend to believe Russell will be the starter as well, but I also thought Coker would be the starter over Sims in 2014, and thought Simpson would be the starter over Milroe in 2023. Whenever there has been a true QB battle in the preseason, it seems like the guy who has been in the system longer wins out.

I hear ya, It was a joke at first, then my insecurity stepped in to correct my own joke instead of just leaving it

I guess I was assuming any person with close enough access to practice on the regular (especially for Stein to have consulted them frequently) is also gonna have contact with the coaches in some capacity, if not CKD
