Video: Film Guy - Alabama survives worst day at SCarolina

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

This is what DE's are doing to Proctor. Look how far the DE is lined up outside of Proctor. He literally just runs around and meets Simpson when his plant foot hits to throw the ball. On this play Ty gets drilled in the back as the ball is coming out.

I can't believe Ty actually got that throw off. If Ryan Williams could catch a football...

On this play #6 Stewart lines up on the edge, the two interior DL'men stunt to the right side of the Alabama OL then Stewart stunts to the inside with an open lane to get to Simpson. And to the right of Simpson is Proctor getting beat again by an edge rusher who literally just ran around him.

The formula for beating us is not difficult. We cannot run the ball, so all you have to do is get to Ty. Executing the formula isn't easy however. You must have elite edge players.

The circled asterisk is where the center hiked the ball on this running play. This was a run to the outside of the left tackle and we gain an easy 8 yards. One of the best runs all day. Why aren't we doing more of these during the game? Our OL seems to do a much better job at blocking on these types of plays compared to between the tackle runs. Can someone explain why we aren't implementing more of these outside edge runs?

Not to pick on the kid, and he has tightened up his shot group lately, but it would be one thing if he was dropping passes in contact or with close hand fighting. He’s not, he is dropping balls where he is wide open and they hit him in the hands! It’s almost funny.

That right there at LT is going to bite us.

I can almost promise he just tackled that guy but didn’t get flagged.

We will get so many holding calls vs LSU and AU if they don’t fix this.

Of course vacating both A gaps is pretty unsound as well…lol

It is anything but funny. He has been killing us at critical times.

Proctor never laid a hand on the guy on that play. Completely untouched to the QB. Both tackles need help....but my goodness Proctor looked like a high school kid out there playing against grown men.

Ryan is trying to catch everything he can with his body.....that is not a good technique for a WR.

There are instances where you want to use your body to block a defender, sure, but if you're a WR and can't catch with your hands consistently.....you might want to be a DB.

You must not be listening to the announcers. They keep saying he will be a first round pick...maybe early first round...maybe the first LT taken.

(Blue font because this sounds ridiculous to me...but that is what they're saying.)
