Video: Film Guy - Alabama survives worst day at SCarolina

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

What’s weird is. For all of the faults. I don’t know any other team this year that could have ran this gauntlet we just got through. And honestly this last one was the only one where I felt we might lose during the game.

We never trailed Georgia
We trailed vandy for a quarter.
I don’t remember if we trailed after Missouri’s opening score.
We never trailed Tennessee.

I can’t explain, it I can’t understand it. I don’t think I have ever seen anything like it. This team is just really good at winning.

They are extremely good in the critical moments.

So was the Washington team that DeBoer took to the national title game.

On this play #6 Stewart lines up on the edge, the two interior DL'men stunt to the right side of the Alabama OL then Stewart stunts to the inside with an open lane to get to Simpson. And to the right of Simpson is Proctor getting beat again by an edge rusher who literally just ran around him.

Thank you for these. This is why i sometimes question the PFF stats about pressures. They had 1 for proctor, and here's two, and id bet there are more.

Does he get any credit for beating the same team that throttled us in BDS earlier that season?
Nope! Transitive property is fools gold, I watched Washington all season last year and I think Bama would have throttled them too. Heck, we had Michigan beat in the semi, then let them complete a long 4th down at the end of the 4th that let them take it to OT. We lost to Texas after Milroe threw what, 3 picks? 😝

I’m just being tongue in cheek, I’m not totally sold on DeBoer yet (still has a bad habit of poor play/losses against bad teams), but I do think he is a good coach and for the moment I’m glad to have him vs where we could be. Just poking fun.

Heard that, no worries

I've calmed myself down some by remembering two things: 1 - "Trust" between he and the players seems to be authentic and a legit source of magic/clutch, and 2 - No one has an actual clue how he wants to build teams long-term since he's only ever been at FBS schools for 2 years each

He may not even know how he wants to build programs....outside of concepts.
