Game Thread: First CFP Rankings

Biggest takeaway for me is the statement that a loss to LSU essentially takes us out of the playoff discussion.

If we can’t beat LSU at home then barring a huge upset we don’t deserve to be in the playoffs and the critics using our schedule against will have been validated. This LSU team is good but they are no where near as good as their 2011 team.

Not necessary. Just heard their explanation and from what I gathered.... Alabama could still get in with a close loss... depending on how the game went. If Alabama lose, they probably drop to #5, #6...

and then win out... Won't hurt.

If we lose to LSU we'd need LSU to win the SECCG and then hope the committee would feel that a 1-loss Bama is better than a 1-loss Oregon. That could happen if we beat Auburn because Oregon lost to Auburn.

Lots of football to be played and the top 4 will be shaken up.

Ohio State plays Penn State
LSU plays Bama
Clemson...well, Clemson doesn't play anyone
In all probability, Georgia will play the winner of the Bama-LSU game

Buckle up! It's going to be an interesting finish to this season.

I do think Pac 12's hopes are going to be riding on the score of Bama vs LSU. Oregon/Utah doesn't want to see a close game. If it is a close game then they will hope Bama is the loser since we still have Auburn left while LSU has nobody.

I wonder how far LSU will drop after we beat them this weekend?

:p
