SAD to say Lousyanna
This is painful but I don't expect us to win this week-end and I really expect it too not even be close. I love BAMA as much as anyone on here but due to BC/Rh being out of the picture my outlook for the first half is this:
CMS will not take chances by passing as he learned his lesson from the sc game and it hurt us to pass. If we throw it at all it will be something very short, quick and safe. I don't expect to see any passes but 1 the entire first half. What I do expect is a field position game and us running it on every down trying to wear down their defense and it will happen but it won't happen until later in the second half. By then and it kills me to say, it will be too late much like last years games we will try very hard and give it our best but won't be able to dig out of the hole we created in the first half. Not by choice or lack of effort but they will key on the running game and we will still move the ball but not enough to just drive it down their throats to score maybe two field goals is what I see.
On the ucheat side I see us doing great things on defense and pressuring their young qb but, they will be able to pass and make a couple of big plays via the pass. I can see it being 17-6 at halftime and while you might say thats not much look again we don't have the qb presence to turn the TIDE and make the come back. I know I will get blasted for this post and be called a barner or not a true TIDE fan but if you really just look deep into the picture of reality I am not saying anything that isn't true.
The players will give it their all and they will fight their hearts out as they do every week but eventually their offense will get a big break or help from the officiating to score on one drive no doubt. I promise you we go into obknoxiousville down by 7-10 points from the ref's alone. I won't be in the shed this week-end as I expect to get beat and I really won't be throwing anything around. I know me saying I expect to get beat is bad but I expected the REDSOX too get beat also. I do not wanna say anything positive for the TIDE and hopefully that will work. Fianla outcome is not pretty : BAMA= 13 ucheat=31

Your post does not look so good in it's self.
U believe we have a very good chance to beat Tennessee. We have played the last two games better as a whole team than we did against UARK and USC. WHile the teams wher5e not of the same level as Tennessee, we are playing better as a team over all. this in it's self is a good indacation that we will do more than give them a good game. The spread is only 7 points. This is a top 11 team we are playing we are ranked 28th.
This game is set to be a nail bitter or a blow out. I for one do not see the blowout comming from the Tennessee side of the field. If we lose it will be within a touch down. If we winn it will be by two scores or better.

UT will not score 17 in the first half, and will not score 31 in this game! Fulmer is way too conservative to sling the ball around when he has a lead. Chill out and enjoy the game (win or lose). Our time will come.

Oh, I forgot, you're a Barner. ;)

What negativity ....

Sorry, I don't agree with your post.

Well I had planned on having some cold beer and hot wings ready at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon and settle in to watch a good football game. If Bama's just going to lose and get blwn out in the process, I guess I'll just split firewood and get ready for a cold, bitter winter. :frown:

I won't go out on a limb and say the Tide WILL win this weekend, but I certainly believe we CAN! I really expect to have a very good shot at beating those hillbillies. I will be watching the game with full expectations of celebrating another Tide victory.

While you are entitled to your opinion, someone could use a dose of optimism. I mean why throw in the towel before the game even begins? Hey maybe Bama shouldn't even make the trip to Knoxville, just call Fulmer up and say "hey Coach, you win. You're too good. We're not coming."

I Believe!!!

WYTBOYZ, where were you in '92? This Saturday is one of the greatest rivalries in college football! I for one look forward to this as much if not more than Christmas. Since I live in the land-of-orange this is my favorite time of the year. Despite our lose of BC & RH I still believe that we will give the EvilEmpire all they want Saturday afternoon. Unlike you I pulled for the BOSOX and look what happened, I can only hope and pray that the same will come for my beloved TIDE!
ROLLTIDEROLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :biga:

I hope hope hope hope you are flat-out wrong. I agree there is this little voice in my head saying "this is going to be painful to watch" but by golly I'll be perched right there in front of the bigscreen, telephone turned off, curtains closed, down on my hands and knees praying if need be.

This is always one of my favorite Saturdays of the year. No matter the outcome I enjoy the emotion of it all. I pray for no injuries, lots of Bama defense, lucky breaks turned into Bama points, and a victory for my beloved Tide in the end.

Roll Tide Roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My first half scenario has

BAMA getting after their ***.

MY second half scenario has BAMA running up the middle and taking a knee late in the game trying NOT to score so that we don't embarass those boys too badly in front of their momma's.

But what do I know, I've only been studying football for 40+ years.

And to paraphrase a talented man: either way, ROLL TIDE!!

magpie= a chattering bird of the crow family

its not a pretty site, and I hated it when I was a magpie, but I guess we can all be one of those at times. Roll Tide this magpie is on his way to Knoxville. :BigA:

I wish I knew what to expect Saturday. But then, thats what will make it interesting. Bamaby7 alluded to 92 when nobody gave us a chance and Tenn is no Miami.

Mike what gives...........

You and I spoke on the phone after our little spat before the season and tried to understand one another better, but come on man! Post like this just are not needed! No matter how bad or poor I would think Bama could play in a game, I would NEVER EVER say that out loud. Come on man. Did that desert heat get to you a bit??

1992?

Hell, forget 1992. Tennessee is definetly no Miami. This game seems eerily familiar to the 2001 Alabama/Barn game...a top 15 team, at their place, with our back-up QB in a game NO ONE (except Cecil Hurt) picked us to win.

The Tide turns...20-17.

The beauty of this rivalry (and lately it hasn't been too positive for us) is that you can just about throw conventional wisdom out the window.

Who would have thought last year that we would have been up by seven late in the 4th quarter against a ranked UT team?

If we're tied tomorrow and we have a first and goal from the two, is there any doubt that we score this time around? If we're up by seven with just a little over two minutes to go, 1st and two, do you doubt that we'll get the first down to run out the clock? If we're up by seven in OT and have them pinned back at 4th and 19, do you doubt that this time we'll make the stop to end the game?

I have no doubts. It may or may not happen; but I do not doubt my team. They can do it.

They took this team that won 10 games (including one at Miami) to five OTs before getting beat and they can look back to the aforementioned scenarios and see where they stopped themselves. That game was there for the taking and Bama left it.

This is where we turn the corner. If our guys put themselves in those same positions again tomorrow, I fully believe they will have learned from their past experiences and come through with flying colors.

By the way, in regulation last year, we ran the ball 48 times compared to 28 pass attempts. Granted, we completed 17 of those for 185 yards and one touchdown. Point being that we ran the ball a whole lot more than we threw it last season and almost won. We're a better running team this season than last.

Have faith. Anything can happen. As the great golfer, Gary Player, once said, "The harder you work, the luckier you get." Our guys have got to make their own breaks. Do that and we'll all be proud of them.
