Aside from having all 44 players on your two deep return from an undefeated national championship year, I really don't know much else they could have going for them.
- They return a Heisman winner and two-time Heisman finalist at QB.
- They return three of the top 10 returning rushers in the SEC (Tebow, Demps, and Rainey)
- They have two OL on the preseason All-SEC first team.
- They also have one of the top 3 TEs in the country.
- They return all 22 of their two deep from their defense that finished 5th nationally in scoring defense (1st in SEC).
On paper, they should be the best team in the SEC in years.
Having said that, I believe Georgia is really being overlooked. They have solid lines on both sides of the ball, and have a pretty favorable schedule. If they can pull off an upset against Florida, they could well win the East.
Considering the preseason favorite rarely wins the SEC (perhaps having a target on their back), Georgia has little hype to live up to.
If I were a betting man, I would still bet heavily on Florida winning not only the East, but the SEC, but I would not discount Georgia completely.
