I'll confess...

I am a total football freak!!! I LOVE Alabama football. I was the only child for 13 years so by default my daddy raised me right. I pay for Tide Pride and purchase the tickets in my house and tell my hubby what games he can or cannot go too (b/c they are my tickets!!!) :D Some of my friends have told me I should have been a guy b/c I know so much about football and other sports in general!!! I just lol! I am currently raising our daughter (and, of course, our son) to have this same passion and love for Alabama football!!!!!!

I have had occasions where my husband wanted to go to the mall (so I could help him shop for clothes) and I refused b/c football was on (even though Bama was playing later that night) - he's been with me for 10 yrs of marriage and 13 yrs total so I guess I'm a keeper :D

MadameSnapper is unbelievable....

she never ceases to amaze me with her knowledge about football and specific players........even those that are not crimson clad. She yells from horn to horn from our seats in Section D......and even chastises me when she feels like I'm not holding up my end of the deal. She's a fantastic football partner.........and not too bad for a wife either.

My wife (gator) knows more about football than alot of guys. She grew up watching football w/her dad and brother. My daughter is 11 months and already knows more about football than Tommy Tuberville!

True story...............

I once had a girl at a Bama game turn to me and ask me where the yellow line that ran across the field was.

Of course she was talking about the 1st down line on TV
At least you know that she was paying some attention to the game...

Well I am the biggest Bama freak in my family, in fact the biggest one i know. My brother started taking me to games when i was 12 and i was hooked (which was '92, not a bad year to be introduced). Graduated from UA (sure miss my $5 student tickets, especially this week)

I love baseball (braves) and football (bama being priority 1 of course), and know as much about football as any guy i've ever met (usually more). If my brother or dad,who usually go to the games with me, want to know who #__ is, they ask me. And i am also proud to say my 13 year old sister, is a big fan too, i have raised her right :) she hates ALL things orange, and can't wait to go to the TN game! She understands the game, she can watch and knows what is going on. She still talks about the 5 OT TN game.

i've only missed three home games the last 8 years..two due to hurricane ivan, one due to the birth of my niece :)

yes us girls can be as loyal and crazy about bama as anyone!

RTR!

Eventually...

I look for that yellow line (well, it may be blue or red) to be there in in reality - laid down by a sideline laser... :D

The difficulty there is the crown of the field. Bigger the crown, the bigger (higher) the laser would have to be. Also keeping the line perfectly perpendicular to the field. Might have to be something like ESPN's SkyCam. Of course, it could be done.

My wife knows a whole lot about sports!

We first started dating while I was living in Birmingham, and after making the 11 hour drive to Dallas to see her, she would greet me at the door with a quick kiss and would say "Great to see you! The Rangers are playing!" So, I'd sit there and watch with her. I honestly never cared about baseball, but I started watching and started to understand the rules with her help, and really started to love it (but not nearly as much as football!).

She grew up watching OU football games with her dad, so she's loved football for a long time. She went to Baylor and has stuck with them through all the tough years, going to games and listening to every single one on the radio when she can't go, so now it's especially great for her that they are doing pretty well now.

In fact, when we watch all the 'Bama games with the DFW Alumni Chapter, if the Baylor game is going on at the same time and isn't on television (they rarely are on television), she brings her headphones so she can watch 'Bama and listen to Baylor!

I did get her into 'Bama football though. She is now a fan and knows most of the players. I think her favorite player that she has ever seen play is Lane Bearden. She was really impressed with how tough he was taking on anyone who had the nerve to return one of his punts with a brace on his knee!

I have a lazer level at home that turns corners. I'll call Stanley and Black and Decker and get them working on it.

If my memory serves me correctly, there were games, all star types, played some years back where they tried to use some sort of laser instrument to measure the first downs on the sideline. It didn't emerge as a viable method, for some reason. Anyone have any light (excuse the pun) on this?

I have really enjoyed hearing from our female fans on this question about football knowledge. I would not hesitate to put our ladies up against all other competitions' women for team loyalty/savvy. Hats off.

My wife likes football and knows for the most part what is going on. But she isnt into the technical aspects.

She will sit and watch it with me, and goto games also.

My wife and I are alum from the mid-seventies. She is a huge fan, but not a walking encyclopedia for x's & o's.

My daughter is a Junior at U of A. She is an athlete herself and knows football in and out. She said the Florida game was one of the highlights of her young life. She loves it.

My son is more the intellectual and a talented musician. He will start at U of A next year, on academic scholorship. He will, at least, ask "who won the game?".

Go figure! Proud of them both.

Speaking from a wifes point of view if someone made me choose football especially bama football over my husband I think I would be ok with that. I would have majored in it in college if I could have. Roll Tide!!!

I unfortunately didn't discuss some important aspects of marriage with my wife. I lucked out on one, she is a Republican. To my dismay I found out after it was too late a anullment, SHE WAS A BARNER.... :eek2:

There is a happy ending after many years of marriage and constant pressure from our 2 boys (14) and (16) she has finally changed colors.

We have attended every home Bama football game the last 2 years.

I knew when I was starting to get to her, 3 years ago when Georgia came to town she dyed her hair Crimson and yelled for the Tide.

The metamorphosis is almost complete. Yesterday she told me a joke about Auburn. Lets just say I fell in love all over again.

We will be at the stadium this Saturday, the beautiful long legged blonde :biggrin2: screaming at the top of her lungs will be my wife...

Also it doesn't hurt that she thinks Coach Shula is HOT..... Oh well I get to look at the majorettes.
