I hate to be a typical Fran basher, cause quite frankly, I think he did us a favor by leaving town...but I tought this was interesting...

From CNNSI.com truth and rumors:
One of the top running back recruits in Texas, Joseph Reese hears rumblings from classmates at Pflugerville Hendrickson that Texas A&M coach Dennis Franchione may be fired after this season. Reese, who has made a non-binding oral commitment to the Aggies, doesn't know if there's any substance to the rumors. Just in case, though, he's trying to identify a backup school.

I think he is on the hot seat. I believe he did us a great favor in leaving town the way he did. I liked his style at the time, but I really don't wish him any sucess for the rest of his career.

My advice to Joseph Reese, go to Texas or OU, even Texas Tech or OSU. Why would you want to play for a fledgeling team like ATM? Unless you were born an aggies fan. Ugh.

Still thinking about that whole situation gets me all rowled up. What a jerk for doing our players like that. Sorry, I know I speak for all regarding this, but had to vent.

MSN and Fox both have articles out right now about "Div. 1 coaches on the hot seat." I've yet, to see one of these articles that didn't have fRan on the list. The same, can be said for Fulmer.

If you do a search at you.tube for Franchione, the only thing that comes up is this: SMU avoids a winless season in 1994 by scoring a touchdown with nine seconds left to beat New Mexico.

Trivia: last time I checked the NCAA records, he was tied for having been the head coach at the most schools in the history of the game. One more and it's his alone. And it doesn't look like he'll have to wait that long....

If Fran is on the hot seat, them I'm taking bets that he will jump ship before the season is over. He'll tell his ole lady that "we've found a home", the same thing that he says at each and every job that he takes. And, he'll tell the A & M team (via telephone and not in person) to "hold the rope".

Makes me want to throw up......

ROPE, What rope!?!?!? Did Fran ever even have a rope???
I would love to see the powers that be at aTm tell him to "hold the rope" and then let him fall flat on his buttocks!!! On second thought, that brings back memories from the movies Deep Impact and Armageddon.....we don't want the collision of his giant man teets and buttocks to cause a cloud to cover the earth and kill off all living things!! Let's just hope he gets "EVERYTHING" he deserves!!!

If A&M tanks early in the season, and loses to some teams they should blow out then look for Fran to resign. He will not allow himself to be fired, he thinks too much of himself to let that happen. But, I think A&M will win at least 8 maybe 9 games this season assuming the kids play. If they quit then he is history. By resigning, he gets less and A&M comes up with the cash to let him leave without the stigma of being fired. Although, like Mike Price, I see him resurfacing at some smaller school with big bucks and no pressure, although Kim may not like the small school atmosphere or location.

What would be funny is if Fran left and got hired at Utep while Mike Price
goes to a bigger school. Fat Phil then gets canned and Borges goes to Oregon St. while Mike Riley gets fired. Then to top it off Bobby Petrino goes to Wisconsin and Tubberville goes to A & M all in one fell swoop.

He will not quit unless he negotiates with aTm to keep most of the money due him over the remainder of his huge contract. If he just quits, he loses everything. If they fire him, they have to pay his contract out...

With his easy schedule this season the aggies should win at least 8 games. This would get him to a bowl and save his job. Of course, one can only lose to his arch rivals so long before he's canned.

He's fine after this season but is gone after 2007.
