Wouldn't worry too much about that. In addition to the aforementioned fact he is out recruiting for us, I don't think Nick would have commented about it publicly if there were any way Freddie may not be able to be hired at the Capstone.
Yep, no way he is recruiting if he is not already considered an employee. Got to be some kind of HR delay, though, for them to not be able to make the announcement official yet.

You can hire the right coach that can teach the right things in the practice and in the meeting, but at the end of the day, it is on the players to execute what was taught in practice and on the field. You can't teach a kid how to be a dog, it has to be something that can't be taught. kids today is not the same kids that we're used to 5, 10 years old. We as a fan have to keep that in mind.... that things have changed so much in the last 5, 7 years... You need kids that are willing to be coached hard.. can take criticism, and not jump into transfer portals whenever things goes wrong for them. Saban knows what needs to be fixed... and I'm gonna just let him handle that part... Just know that Alabama is not the only school that has issues.... It is nationwide issue.
We need some kids who have more than a little fight in em. These guys refuse to quit, and think nothing of running over someone in their way.
In short we need tough kids. You can't teach moxie, but these guys will be giving their best to win.

I heard John Parker Wilson on the radio today and he had a lot of good things to say about Freddie.

I think it is important to have some guys on the team and staff who have a connection to the state. It is understated by many but I do think it has some value.
Agreed. Heard the roundtable guys on WJOX this morning interviewing Demeco Ryans who is the LB coach for the 49ers. Didn't even know he was in coaching. Anyway, he is another great one to keep your eye on from the State.

I did not know either until this past Sunday and the camera caught him on the sideline talking to a 49er LB. Demeco was the best player on those very average Shula teams.

Ryans, Roach, Harper, Anderson, and Gilberry were a big reason why Shula was blessed with a 10-win season here. Dudes just absolutely shutdown Texas Tech in the bowl game. Their fans in the stands didn't seem to understand games could end with just a hair more than 20 total points.

Winning that game with the ugliest field goal make I've ever seen win a game was pretty much the Shula era in a nutshell.

I really hope we can land both Feddie and Demeco, I think that will go a long way to cementing the culture of player alumni with the program.

Loved those Pre-Saban players. Most excited I’ve been by a position coach hire in a long time. Freddie is young, hungry, and his blood is Crimson thru and thru.

This makes me excited. Playing with passion is one of the very few things I think Saban's "process" misses the boat on. He preaches so hard on pushing the feelings and emotions out and focusing on "the job" that a lot of times our guys play the game void of emotion. Which I think hurts us in the Iron Bowl.

NBC Sports this morning says Roach was retained and CLK's staff is complete. The Jackson Clarion Ledger this morning says the staff is complete but doesn't list Roach. ??

For anyone still wondering. Freddie is not listed on the Ole Siss site.

I think this is most probably laziness on behalf of NBC Sports.

They most likely referenced the report that Freddie turned down the Giants to stay at Ole Miss but never followed the subsequent developments after that.

Additionally, if you look at the Ole Miss assistant coaches, Derek Adams was evidently announced on Friday (1/24) as their defensive line coach, which was formerly Freddie’s role.

So the Clarion Ledger is correct. Kiffin’s staff is compete. NBC Sports just missed the fact that Freddie is back at Alabama.

Neither UA nor OM have made an official announcement regarding Roach, so the best evidence is Saban and Roach recruiting together. And if Roach returned to OM after being out recruiting off campus for us, you would think that NBC would explicitly state that. But nothing beyond a simple statement.

Unless there's a massive turnaround, and Roach is in fact staying at OM, recruiting for us notwithstanding, NBC is guilty of a major gaffe.

Reason #745,450 to not believe one thing all but a few talking heads or ink-stained wretches put out for public consumption.

Cecil Hurt is among the exceptions. But right now, I can't think of a single other writer or broadcaster whose statements I believe simply because that person said it. Shoot, I don't think most of them believe what they themselves are spewing. As I sit here typing this, I'm realizing that distrust extends to all media, whether sports-related or not.

"Here's a twenty. Bury two."

Did I say I don't trust media of any description?
