Game Thread: Friday 9/26/25 games

  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. There are no significant changes to either of these but the terms page does clarify a few things that are mostly in the legalese. You can just click the checkbox for both and continue using the site as usual! We'll update you more on the site upgrades VERY soon! THANK YOU AS ALWAYS for supporting the site and being an active participant!

Haynes didn’t run all over OU. The first play from scrimmage to open the second half went for 75, other than that he carried 18 times for 50 yards or less than 3 yards per carry. He struggled all game outside of the one carry.
Thanks, I didn't watch it just saw the stats. I should have caught the long of 75 though.

Since I embarrassed myself a bit with that one, I will explain the logic a bit more. Haynes in the Alabama game against Oklahoma average 6, with a long of 7. So, we know there's nothing heavily skewing those numbers there, but either way it was just 3 attempts.

We don't know for sure that he'd do any better than 3 a carry though, that's valid. May be he'd have broken off a long run and scored a TD, may be he only has 3 per carry. Here's the flip side of that. Milroe only averaged 4.2 per pass attempt/scramble with 3 turnovers. Even more carries at 3 YPC likely leads to a better outcome.

It is what it is though, a great day passing and Alabama doesn't have to worry about that. Just hard for me to wrap my head about looking so bad against this very mediocre looking FSU team.

Would be funny if FSU gets this ball back and throws a pick on the first play of their drive.
