As per the nice gentleman from ESPN. We are delusional about our "pecking order" in the coaching search. Once again I think the only good thing ESPN headquarters would be good for is a landfill. MORONS!!!

Like anyone espn interviewed knows any more than we do. ESPN is a worthless media outlet that has been grasping at straws every since XCMS was let go.

They start bandwagons all the time and depending on how many people jump on it depends on how much time they spend talking about it. I.E. All the pumpin up they did about USC pre-UCLA. Especially Collen Cowterd. Sometimes it seemed like he did his entire show right up under Pete Carroll's desk.

There is one thing for sure.

Bama is a tough place to coach if you're content with being average. However, if you succeed, there are few better places. You'll be payed well. You'll be treated as a demi-god. You 'll be the most famous face in the state. You will be revered and respected. And if you leave a winner, you'll never have to worry about anything again.

Take Gene Stallings. He hasn't coached in 10 years. You think anyone in Alabama doesn't know who he is? Do you think he ever pays for a meal in Alabama. :)

I will say this, though, it's easier to keep a coach than get one.

Blue Leader our forces in that sector (Bristol) are calling for carpet bombing. OK, gentleman we are over our target. Commence bombing. Second wave repeat.

Mission accomplished.

Blue Leader this is Strike Fighter One our intel has informed me there is one survivor. This is Blue Leader "Who is the lucky son of a gun"? ITS Lee Corso, Commander. :biggrin2:

My take on this is that Mal Moore is confident that he has his man. It's just going to take some time (games still to be played). It was stated on this before, that national signing day isn't until February. Once the recruits find out who the Coach is, we will find out that there was no problem in the delay of naming the new Head Coach. We will have a good recruiting class..

IF, for some reason, Mal doesn't have his man and all the Coaches that were in the so called "search" gets away or stays where they are. We then go to plan B in my opinion, his name is Coach Gene Stallings...

Can't go wrong there my fellow Tide Fans.. He meets the criteria...

Well then, we should keep CJK, Rader and a few others, fire Connely, get an OL Coach worth a flip and bring back Coach Gene to be the foreman of the outfit.
They might not have that many years left, but the years they'd have would be killer. This all happens of course around 12:00 PM on the day that he!! freezes over.

If we had of enlisted Gene's help (and I believe he said he would have come back at that time), instead of a bonehead call hiring CMS after the Price fiasco then we would'nt be going thru all this anxiety we are experiencing now.

I just wanted to get in my daily I hate ESPN and ABC rant. These clowns get paid to tell us what they think will happen in a sports game. The fact is about 85% they are wrong. I wish I could make as much money telling people a bunch of BS about how good a team is. Then turn around and kick some team down south while they are going through rough times. I wish those morons would come down to B/D stadium and open their mouth.

Do y'all remember the 2004 Home Depot Pick'em Contest, with Lee Corso? Every week, you picked straight up with Lee. No spreads. If you beat him, your name went in a drawing for gift card prizes. Now, Corso ain't no Karnak the Magnificent, but I absolutely suck (sometimes) at pick'em games against the spread. Straight up, I'm good. ;)

By the end of the 2004 season, I'd gotten two $25 gift cards and a half-off coupon for any Ryobi cordless power tool valued at $99 or more.
