If this has already been posted I apologize, could not find it anywhere.

I just went on to sign up for gameplan here in NC and when looking at the schedule they have the Alabama/ Western Carolina game blacked out?:mad2:

Will the game be available through a different PPV option?

Any information will be appreciated?

Now there is an ugly possibility in the Western Carolina region and maybe the entire state of North Carolina. I was hoping civilization would advance to the point where If you were willing to pay for the priviledge, it would be available but it appears we are not going in that direction.

Doubtful the Big Ten:rolleye2: "network" will carry it... Speaking of the Big Ten:rolleye2: "network", anyone that reads TideFans going to buy it? :biggrin2:

Cause I'm thinking uh, no...

The PPV games are always blacked out on GamePlan in Alabama and the state of the opponent. The last time we played WC, DirecTV had the PPV option available in NC, and there is no reason to think they won't do so this time as well. As far as TW goes, they suck and there is no telling what they will do.

You will be able to order the game seperately on a different channel the day of the game, apart from the regular Gameplan season package. They always have two or three single games (Usually involving Alabama, UF, or Auburn) that can be ordered for $30 bucks or so. In short, if you live in Alabama or NC, do not order the Gameplan season package just to see Alabama games. They will be blacked out in those states in order for directv to extort more money from us on a single game ppv basis......

If you have Directv, do what I did and "move". I actually live in Hattiesburg, MS. But Directv thinks my physical location is in New York. I get all the network feeds in HD and I won't have any Bama blackouts. The only downside to this is no local news (I use the internet) and NY regional games for baseball and NFL.

pretty smart fella aren't ya?

Oh lord.

I'll be in NC when school starts up again and can't stand not finishing my first week without this game.

Anyone think sports bars will have it? Or, does anyone here know of a Bama-friendly (or, I guess, Western Carolina friendly, too) sports bar in the Triangle?

For WC-friendly, you would probably have to go to Cullowhee.

Your best bet would be to check with the Raleigh chapter of the alumni association to see if they are meeting anywhere to watch. If not, I know that the Charlotte chapter always meets to watch every game.

there is no gameplan - I can't make it much clear - we will have a gameplan when the times comes - do not ask about a gameplan....oh wait wrong thread;)

Gameplan Rule: If it is ever blacked out you can get it on TV. Either JP, ESPN, CBS, or PPV. So generally speaking, a blackout is a good thing. :BigA:

Why are they blacking out the Western Carolina game in North Carolina? I've look all over the map and all I can find is a North and South Carolina. I looked all the way to California and I've yet to find Western Carolina.....
