I'll have to stick up for several LSU posters here. I think they add good conversation and are respectful guests. I have no idea who these new idiots are but I'm sure they'll be banned soon enough.

We do have some good rival posters and I enjoy their opinion. Most of us are familiar enough with our "good rivals" we can probably name their handles. What concerns me is the sudden influx of drive-by posters from time to time. It gets old quickly. I know there was a thread in the last 2 weeks that seemed almost 80% tiger fans. JMO though.

Agreed, I'm not routinely interested in the LSU perspective of BAMA football, nor of the perspectives of the fans of any other school besides ALABAMA. If I were, there are many other places to obtain that information. The name of the board says it all. I'm sure some of the regular rival posters are good folks, and I would be happy to share a beer and a burger with them while tailgating, I just don't care to talk BAMA football with them. I spend a lot of time away from home and TIDEFANS is an important lifeline for me. If I want an outsider's opinion, I'll walk next door and ask a Hawaii fan what he thinks about BAMA's coaches, players, or recruits.:smile:

Amen JD,,well said. I feel exactly the same way. We routinely invite opposing fans to our tailgate at the game however, we normally both know better than to engage in in-depth opinionated football conversation because I think it is obvious where we both stand. Hence the allegiances we hold.

I didn't say he specifically did. But what get's old is the subtle barbs at CNS and our program that are frequently and routinely sandwiched in a lot of posts, even from our "respected" LSU posters. Granted I'm from Mississippi and will never be mistaken for a mental giant. But I have enough walking around sense and paid just enough attention in some of my writing classes in college to recognize when someone is doing it. It is very akin to the back handed compliment.

Now if you don't think you do it then I wasn't referring to you. But it has begun to happen more frequently. And if it's just me that's noticing then I'll get back on my meds... :biggrin2:

I know that for myself, I've been acused of taking a subltle "shot " at CNS when it wasn't that at all. But, at the same time, I was defended by some of the bama posters. Tiga will we all right, he's just got to learn the ropes over here.
