I realize you’re just the messenger, but people shouldn’t need a law to tell them to wear a seatbelt. Getting into a vehicle and not wearing a seatbelt is just downright stupid.adults in back seat do not have to wear a seat belt in Georgia

Especially if the driver is drunk and going 100 mph.I realize you’re just the messenger, but people shouldn’t need a law to tell them to wear a seatbelt. Getting into a vehicle and not wearing a seatbelt is just downright stupid.
I don’t disagree. A lot of stupidity that night and laws brokenI realize you’re just the messenger, but people shouldn’t need a law to tell them to wear a seatbelt. Getting into a vehicle and not wearing a seatbelt is just downright stupid.

Gantt is not a lawyer. This is from the AJC. "Gantt, 54, grew up in Athens and lettered as a linebacker at Georgia in 1989 and 1990. He spent 19 years as a process server, investigator and legal assistant for the Athens law firm headed by Ed Tolley, a long-time attorney for the UGA Athletic Association. Gantt was a part-time recruiting assistant for several years before joining the football program full time in 2011 to work on disciplinary problems among players and other matters."I have only seen articles where 911 and the lawyer were called, but not the order in which it took place. Is it truly a fact that the lawyer was called before 911 was called? Or is this speculation? I’m not being a smart butt on this, I’m truly wondering
richt's fixer. not surprising, as lack of discipline was one of the most consistent factors of his teams. lack of discipline stops becoming a problem when you sweep it under the rugGantt is not a lawyer. So he doesn’t even use law expertise to get players out of trouble, he just pulls strings to make it happen. Wonder to what lengths he’s willing to go to get results..richt's fixer. not surprising, as lack of discipline was one of the most consistent factors of his teams. lack of discipline stops becoming a problem when you sweep it under the rug

You seem to have the sole purpose of defending uga on this thread...to an obsession.I have only seen articles where 911 and the lawyer were called, but not the order in which it took place. The SUV came to a halt right next to an apartment building. I would bet my life savings that the apartment tenants came out and immediately called 911. Somebody else, perhaps a player, called Gannt would be my guess.I have only seen articles where 911 and the lawyer were called, but not the order in which it took place. not exactly sure how I have “defended” UGA?You seem to have the sole purpose of defending uga on this thread...to an obsession.![]()

Not really. For the most part it seems he has been asking the same questions most of the rest of us have. You seem to have the sole purpose of defending uga on this thread...to an obsession.![]()
Something else of interest. "When Kirby Smart became the head coach in 2015, he promoted Gantt, eventually increased his salary by fivefold and assigned him to act as what feature articles have described as the team’s liaison with law enforcement. In that role, Gantt — referred to by the honorific “coach” even though he is not officially a member of the coaching staff — has repeatedly shown up as players were arrested or booked into jail." "Gantt, who earns $209,000 a year as the football team’s director of player support and operations, did not respond to an interview request. Neither the university nor the Athens police answered questions about how Gantt learned of the crash so soon after it occurred, why he communicated directly with the police chief, or whether he spoke with witnesses on the scene." So he's gone from making roughly 42,000 a year to 209,000 since Kirby showed up. He must be very good at his job.also interesting and something i did not know
hope this does not come across as smart or defending UGA. Does anyone have any idea if Bama has someone on the payroll who has a similar roll as Gantt at UGA?Something else of interest. I think Kirby has been around the block long enough to know that not all elite athletes are choir boys and a certain % of the elite players are going to be some form of a behavioral issue. I think having that type of position is not that bad of an idea because most elite D-1 college football programs have to deal with this. Granted, I'm not for everything this position probably does, but in general, I can see where having a position like this could be beneficial. Let's not throw too many stones because our head coach kept a DC on staff after getting a DUI.Something else of interest. Solid question…I don’t think so…I only say that because we seem to “fumble” these situations anytime they come up…hope this does not come across as smart or defending UGA. Does anyone have any idea if Bama has someone on the payroll who has a similar roll as Gantt at UGA?
I've not heard any report of Brandon Miller calling anyone to 'help'.Solid question…I don’t think so…I only say that because we seem to “fumble” these situations anytime they come up…
