Georgia Week- what are your thoughts?

I think Kirby’s strategy will be to try to make us drive the length of the field with short gains. Stuff the run as efficiently as possible, try to jam receivers at the line/get safety help, and force Milroe to stay in the pocket and complete a lot of short passes. Middle of the field 5 - 7 yards should be open a lot. Law could be mvp if Jalen can get him the ball. Perhaps the new-fangled pass to the tight end I keep reading about will happen. Slants…never mind.

I would really like our first offensive series to not be a three-and-out for a change.

I think we are going to start out slow on Defense because it seems to take us a bit to catch up to game speed, but I think by the 2nd quarter we are going to lock' em down. I feel like our offense has the potential to score every time we get the ball. UGA isn't the UGA of the past from what I've seen.

Bama 35 UGA 17
That would be a milestone on the way to another Bama national championship under a sixth coach (and a young one at that). Watching the College football world's head explode if that were to happen would be priceless.

I agree with everything you said here. My main concern on offense is if UGA is able to scheme Milroe into a situation where they are able to dictate style of game that UGA would prefer to play. A strong run game would go a long way in helping to avoid that situation, along with a few explosive runs from Milroe on broken down plays. A solid running game and a few busted plays should help to open things up such that we are able to play to Milroe’s strengths. And I 100% agree that I would love a fast, clean start on offense.

Bama and UGA are similar in that both are more talented than a large majority of the teams they play…so while there have been some offensive schemes that could cause problems for both defenses, the talent gap would eventually win out. The fist fight games were usually with the few teams that had the talent to go with the scheme. So I’m interested in seeing if we can cause the UGA defense some issues from a schematic standpoint matched with elite talent.

My concern on offense is if the UGA defense is able to hold up against the run and speed up the game for Milroe by having success getting pressure on him. Milroe tends to struggle with decisions and execution in general at times when a team is able to speed up his decision making process. That said, I think a key to this game could be if Milroe were to make a few explosive runs on pass plays that breakdown. Milroe is good at designed runs, but he’s a complete handful when he’s decisive on pulling it down when the pass or protection isn’t there. If he can make explosive plays even when the defense does everything right, then I like our chances even more.
I think Smart will put pressure on Milroe, especially up the middle (so stunting the linemen and blitzing linebackers) to force Milroe to make sound, quick decisions. If Milrow can do that by recognizing it before the snap or immediately afterwards and finding his hot route or his checkdown, Bama stands a decent chance.

Well, if forced into a short passing game to move the chains, we all know that we will most likely be at a disadvantage.

Georgia beat up on a pretty good Clemson team and barely escaped Kentucky. The Kentucky game will help them. I hope the recently history in this game prevails. Alabama has only lost one in recent times. Some others were nail biters. Game should come down to the wire.
