I hope he is able to find his path. I like that he's thoughtful about it and not just doing what others tell him to do or what he thinks others expect him to do. That level of individuality doesn't happen frequently enough nowadays.

Unfortunately, without a degree it's probably impossible for him to become an officer outside of becoming a warrant officer. Of course if he had a degree he would probably be a Captain by now.
