Got My Sports Illustrated Signed!

I work for Jimmy John's Sandwich Shop ( no, not the player) here in town, and I got a delivery to Brodie's house. J.B. Closner ordered the sandwich.

When I saw that order come up, I snagged it, then went back and got my team poster and 2 copies of SI. And a Sharpie too.

When Closner answered the door to pay for sandwich I immediately asked if he could sign my poster. He gladly obliged. Didn't tip me though? I then asked if Brodie was home, and he said that he was around back.

The whole time I was thinking he was going to get irritated that I was asking for an autograph at his own house. But I figured I had a good excuse, because I was there through work. He was back there cooking somethin' up, probably from the hunt( he did shoot 30,000 doves)

Folks, I am going to tell you that that dude is dang cool. Yea he signed both those magazines, gladly. We then talked about the upcoming game and about the article. He was very down to earth, not "cocky" like some players here on campus. Left him with a "Roll Tide" knowing what a good QB on and off the field we have.

------- That is about the 5th time I have delivered to him, and every time, he has made me proud to be an Alabama fan.

P.S. I ain't selling them

Bama players on campus cocky?

Are they cocky or is it just the typical jock attitude towards everyone non-jock?

Yea, probably more of the typical jock attitude. When I see them around campus, I tell them things like "nice interception" and "great catch," they give a very unenthusiastic "thanks." But I guess I really shouldn't expect them to be like " Oh gee, thanks man, Ya know i didn't think I was going to be able......." And so on. They probably have heard the same thing 100 times that morning.

I have also delivered to Peprah and Harper. They are great guys. Got to them to sign the "defense" poster. Harper shook my hand and asked me my name. The last thing I said to him was "Get Tennessee!" And of course Roll Tide!

Hmmm... BamaBoyinGa, Do you suppose I could give you my number and next time you get a call from the house of Brodie, Closner, and Ballard you could give me a ring and I could help you make the delivery? I will be sure to deliver the sandwich in perfect condition but I can't promise that I would leave that house. :biggrin2:
