Greetings from New York!

Hello everyone... just dropping in from the Bronx. I wanted to recap my visit to Yankee Stadium last night to see the Yankees lose to the Red Sox:

We sat in the bleachers, and it was a sight to see. Myself and my friend don't care for either the Yankees or Red Sox, so we got to just sit back and enjoy the atmosphere. We were dying laughing at the fans jawing back and forth with each other... for a while it felt like we were at an SEC football game.

It was pretty funny to experience another one of the "great" rivalries in sports. Still, if I had to pick, I'd take Wrigley over Yankee Stadium any day of the week.

DD: When I lived in NYC, I loved going to Yankee Stadium. The atmosphere, the big games, the fans from the Bronx, etc. all make for a great baseball-watching experience. I am still somewhat of a Yankee fan....MUCH moreso than Mets, that's for sure (especially now that Mets & Braves are in same division).

One of my buddies in NYC has a top floor / glass surrounded apt on the upper east side on 93rd street. He can see into Yankee Stadium even though it's miles away. It's awesome to watch games in his apt and see the lights on in the background.

There's just something about those old stadiums that is nostalgic. Glad you got to go and enjoy it.

Glad to hear you enjoying yourself DD. I haven't been to many MLB stadiums, but I have visited Yankee Stadium and Fenway. Great places to watch the game and the freak shows in the stands. Watching the fans themselves is almost worth the price of admission.

Hey BN do you remember the Braves vs Yankees 98 game that we went to? The drunken fan who was in the wrong section? Our seats were in the Upper Deck and this clown had seats in the lower deck. There were these firemen there to point this out to the guy!

Wow, I would love to see a game there. I have been a Yankee fan since I was a kid in the '70's and have always wanted to see a game in the house that Ruth built. I hope to go to the new Yankee stadium in 2010.

Just got in from Manhattan for the day. We saw Broadway and Times Square before we headed to Hell's Kitchen to see a taping of the Daily Show, which was hillarious.

Tommorow, my inner nerd reaches a new level. We go to the New York Public Library so I can get a shot of me running out the door, a la Ghostbusters. :biggrin2:
