Wow, he really did make himself look like an idiot. How does LSU deserve a higher seed than us? Because they beat us last? That makes no sense. He had us a 5 seed and we go 2-0 in the week and drop. We'll be a 4 seed if we do decent in the tourney. If we win it a 3 seed.

I wonder if the people on the selection committee look at seeding picks by these so called experts just to see what other people think?

SEC commissioner Mike Slive is on the selection committee this year but has to leave the room when a SEC teams seeding is discussed on selection Sunday.

If Bama wins the first game in the SEC tourney I expect a number 4 seed in tourney.

I just read that bull.

Joe Lunardi, bracketologist supreme, has us as a 4 seed in UNC's bracket.

I'm with everyone that says if BAMA wins the SECT, we'll be a 3 seed.

I don't think...

the Committee looks a lot at columnist. They consider the RPI and a myriad of real world factors - not what some fat-butt keyboardist writes...

I heard the SEC office has had at least 4 mock bracket selections to help Mike Slive prepare for his new adventure. Unfortunately, he won't be able to help any SEC schools when they come up for discussion.

He also selected Bass SEC POY and Davis FOY. How is that for jumping on the late-season band wagon? And Donovan as SEC COY...what?

What about Winston averaging 22 in the last 4 games?

Bama a 6 seed? LSU/Florida 5 seeds? MSU 7 seed?

What a moron!

Ultimately, we are flying under the radar again this year.........and that should work into our favor.
Actually, I have no problem with the LSU, Florida, and MSU seeds. I just think we should be higher than a 6. I'm pretty sure that he's wrong. Unless we go out in the first round of the SEC Tourney, we'll be at least a five.

Basically, I think we go into the SEC Tourney as a six seed, and we improve one seed with each win.

Go into the tournament with a six seed? What have you been smoking? We go in with a 4 seed and get a 5 if we lose early. We get a 3 if we win it.

Sorry. Top 20 ranking, 13 RPI, very good road record, division champs all spell at least a 5.

I think we will be at a 4 with one win and a 3 with tourney win, but no less than five, even if we get smacked by USC/MISS winner.

I stand by my post. Here's what I'm thinking. We go in as a 6 seed, and we gain one position for each win. If we lose in the first round, I think it's possible we'll be a sixth seed. Our AP ranking will probably be between 21 and 24, which puts us close to the 6 seed range. If we win that game, we'll be a 5 seed (we should definitely win that game). After that, if we can beat Florida (assuming they're there), we'll be a 4 seed, and if we beat Kentucky (again, if they're there), we'll be a 3 seed.

I know it's all conjecture. And honestly, I think we would be a 5 seed even if we lose to USC or Ole Miss, but losing that game opens up the 6 seed possibility.

It's really not that ridiculous, guys!

So you're saying if the brackets were released today we'd be a six seed? I don't know what all criteria the selection committee uses in seeding the teams but I'm fairly certain they don't use the AP poll. I agree with those that think we're at least a four, possibly a three. A six is a bit low in my opinion.

Well I guess that would mean we'd be at least a 5 seed, right? LOL Since we would be getting past the first round.........which totally makes everyone's point.

If you...

start out with the premise that we're a #6 (in disagreement with everyone but Doyel) and posit that we lose in the first round (impossible), you can prove almost anything... :D

No, I'm not really saying that; I was just giving an alternate way to look at it. It's just semantics. We could possibly play in three rounds (yes, I know we have a first round bye). If we lose in the first round (in which we play), then I think we could possibly fall to a sixth seed. If we win it, we should be safe as a five seed at worst. If we win the other two, then like everyone is saying, we could be as high as a three.

The truth is, right now, we're almost certainly a high five or low four seed. Everyone is assuming that we'll win the first round. If we lose that game, things could change. Again, I was just giving an alternate way to look at it. Every game is potentially worth a seed position.

I don't know why this is such a contraversial thing to say.
