Grey shirt question

i know i know, this has been asked before, guess i am just a little slow, but i still don't completely understand the grey shirt thing...like JP Wilson from hoover is going to greyshirt, right? does that mean he won't enroll until next January? or will he go to school but not be on scholarship?

if someone could explain it to me again

The answer is yes. He could enroll at his expense or wait until January at the Universities expense. Just can't participate in football until January of 2005. He would count against 2005 schollies.
