I was spazzing when we played Ole miss and our defense turned into wet toilet paper till the fourth quarter. that game was infuriating.
I went back and looked at the Box score and yeah you are right they hung around for a good 3 quarters at least and we didn’t pull away until the 4th quarter.

For sure a bit closer game than I had remembered.

This thread has gone astray, but since it went there I will go on record to say I will never NOT enjoy Bama teams that completely dominate our opponents.

Those of you rooting for "close" games must not have lived through the post-Bryant, post-Stallings, and pre-Saban years!

And, I'll add, the last couple of years of barely winning or inexplicably losing games is torture!

That was the only game that year that had me uncomfortable. We couldn't stop anything they did that night. Granted, they couldn't stop us....but who could in 2020.

8.5 is good money if you ask me
It's not often I find myself wanting to place a bet, but that over seems about as sure of a thing as you could get. I cannot envision a world where we win 8 games or less with everything we have returning. I'm tempted to drive to a sports gambling state to get in on that over. Absolute steal.

Funny with all this Grubb elation. What did the Seattle Seahawks think of Grubb?
I was also curious about that because they fired a guy with the 15th-ranked offense in the NFL in his first year. So I did some searching on the World Wide Web on some Seattle sites and it seems there ended up being some philosophical differences between him and the HC. But again, I don't know how much there is to be upset about when a first-time NFL playcaller gives you the 15th-ranked offense in his first year of employment.

Call me crazy but here goes, CBOB says JM isn't a QB and for what ever reason he leaves. CNS tries to get our current OC to come to bama and for what ever reason he says no, C Debore tries to get our current OC to come to bama and for what ever reason he says no again. There's only one constant in all of this and within days of declaring for the NFL we get our current OC,.

His HC was Michigan’s DC for the cheating gate. He’s a Ravens disciple I do believe. He might have wanted a more physical approach.

Completions…Completion % (in any year w/more than 5 passes) and yardage…it was a very good year for Geno.
Also, no disrespect to Geno at all…but I’d say he’s at least in the bottom half of starting QB’s in the league….and truth be told he is a backup/border line starter in the NFL.

Like I said that’s no disrespect to him at all…I think it’s a testament to his work ethic to hang around the league this long and still be a viable QB..

I also think it’s a credit to Grubb to come in and in just one season help him put up fairly good numbers and finish with a winning record.

This is how I view it as well. The guy went into the NFL for the first time and with a QB who is at best a middle-of-the-pack QB (and that's at best) produced the 15th-ranked offense in the NFL. He definitely can't be considered a failure in his first season. But everything I've read said it was a philosophical difference that got him let go.
