Now, let me make this simple. He implies that if we are not running off to join in this war, that we don't really support it. A few, including myself, have said that we have already fought in our wars. Most of us are too old to re-enlist, even if we wanted to (military has age limits). We need not run off and join the Marines to fully support this president or this war.

In fact, it will likely be our children, not his, that will bleed for this country in the future. We have courage and honor, and we are teaching those values to our boys (I have 2). I doubt that Bamaro served, or that his children will serve, so he shouldn't talk about things that he cannot possibly understand.

There are some things that you cannot learn from books...

I never served personally, although I have family that did. Let me say for Bamaro and all of us here who didnt, THANK YOU for your service and sacrifice. Lastly, I supprt America at war today (Bamaro) because I REMEMBER 9/11. I also am fully aware that I may have to send my son (who is 10) one day. I suppose I increase that risk by telling him the truth about what is going on, and remind him how great his country is and why. I dont even type this easily. It scares me to death to think about it. It is what it is however. Please dont assume that some of us think the war is some video game.

I am 23. I did not join the military, nor did I have any plans to do so out of high school. However, if there is one thing that my grandfather, a WWII vet has taught me, it's that when your country calls, you answer.

I am more than willing to do that.

Thanks to all those who answered the call. Maybe one day I will be able to return the favor.

Seriously, what bothers me is the arm chair warriors who sit back and talk while others go off to do their dirty work.

i am quite sure what you intended to say was communicated. How do you define defending America as dirty work anyway? Do you mean war or just the one we are currently in the process of winning?

Bamaro says that he knows what the conservative posters on this site really think about this war. In fact, he says so. Of course, he said so as a TROLL, not to create discourse, but to spark a reaction. Hence his comment about ducking.

He is a troll and he clearly doesn't know what I might "really" think about this war or this president. Only those who have paid the price in blood can understand the sacrifice that people like him waste. Did you see the pictures of the Iraqis in Australia celebrating their vote? He would risk nothing for that freedom. He deserves no respect from me...

Okay, so you didn't say conservatives - but you meant conservatives. You see, you did say "a lot", and you stand behind that, and there are not a lot of liberals on this board that support either this president or the war on Iraq.

You can duck, but you cannot hide - especially from your own words. At least be man enough to stand behind your post rather than hiding behind that "I never mentioned you specifically" crapola...
