Harmon Forecast: Bama 35 WCU 3

If Memphis beats Ole Miss - I'd say 50/50 odds on that - Crazy Eddie is going to have problems.

I think the race in Mississippi this year is going to be one to watch. Just which one of those coaches will get fired first?????

I hope there is a lot of rotation on the D line. Need to get some exposure to game time for as many as possible.

I don't know the exact series record since 2000, but it seems like Memphis has beaten Ole Miss their fair share of times. Anyone know the numbers?

They've played five times since 2000 and Ole Miss has won 3 of the five. Pretty even, although Ole Miss has won two straight in the series (by a combined 7 points).

Four of their last seven games have been decided by seven points or less.

These two teams are fairly even over the last several years. They are usually pretty tight, sometimes entertaining, games.

While those Ole Miss-Memphis games have been pretty close in score, it's only due to the pathetic brand of football usually played by each :p.

I'd think that a loss to memphis would set the wheels rolling on Orgeron, though I think Croom is a lot closer. And for that matter, Nutt at Arky is about a 5-7 season away from being unemployed. Nutt being who he is though, the eternal optimist/motivator, they'lll probably win 9 and he'll stay another year.

Honestly, at Arkansas, can you really ask for more than what NUtt has done for that program?

Why don't we make fun of the CBS Harmon Forecast... :D

I said:

Alabama - 34

Western Carolina - 3

-- JPW will throw two interceptions

-- We will also turn the ball over on a fumble (Catamount Field Goal)

Our team will make some mistakes, but by the end of the day we will have alot of good things to say about this year's team...

:biga:

The CBS Harmon Forecast gives Alabama an extra point -- and their prediction makes sense...?? :conf3:

I get accused of "not giving our team enough credit"

It would seem that my thoughts concerning the outcome of Saturday's game aren't as "conservative" as some people would lead others to believe...

I could have followed the crowd... ;)

Alabama - 96
Western Carolina - 0

Alabama - 210
Western Carolina - 3

Alabama - 73
Western Carolina - 9

I tried to see the game in my head and how everything would play out, that was how I came up with my prediction...

Myself and many of the professional sport-writers and betting analysts around the country are evidently seeing things in a unique light, I guess...?? :conf2:

hmmm...

Roll Tide! :)

If it makes you feel any better, I think you're both way off. :p

BAMA scores a minimum of 42.

I think 35 - 3 isn't that unrealistic. Despite the talent on offense, it is a new system they are using live for the first time. The D may even give up as many as 10 points but I don't think so.

I'll go with 39 - 7

Florida scores 2 more TD's on Western Kentucky than we do on Western Carolina? No way.

I would say 3 more. He needs to add 14 points to Bama's and 21 more to Florida's. This is WKU's first game in 1A. And in one of the strangest coaching moves ever, they have redshirted all 8 senior starters. Saving them for Bama next year I suppose. UF-WKU is really going to be ugly. LFS is going to regret going to Gainesville.

I don't think so and don't understand the fans' displeasure with him. Was Arkansas that successful of a program when they were in the SWAC?

I agree that the Mississippi race could be interesting. I think Croom might have turned the corner; I don't expect them to win the SEC West, but you should see improvement this year. I think Croom will have more time at State, if for no other reason, the backlash and NAACP rallies that would occur in Starkvegas if he were fired. Jesse hasn't been in the news in a while.

Orgeron on the other hand, doesn't seem to be doing much very fast. The Ole Miss admins have already shown themselves to be unreasonable by firing Cutcliffe. So nothing they do would surprise me.

Some of those predicted scores look about right, i.e., UF 49 -3. Bama should score more than 35 pts on any Div 1-AA team, even with a coaching and system transition. I can see Memphis beating Ole Miss. Personally, I think Troy will give Ark a decent game but enough to beat them, though I wouldn't be shocked if it happened.
