Does anyone else hate abbreviations for head coaches, considering the addition of a certain coach at Florida several years ago? How hard is it to spell out Coach Saban, or Coach Miles, or Meyer? Not to ruin the party, but it turns my stomach.

i dont mind it. of course i can only use one arm so it makes typing out things a pain. for example- what i just wrote took me about 45 secs.

I dont mind urban's acronym. it is what it is. yes im sure more of the juvenile types will giggle when they type it but it is the correct acronym.... unless you are a certain representative from florida who thinks his name is irvin.

I type about 25 wpm, so acronyms work for me...I don't want to get to where everything is "text-speak" (some mods and admins might have problems with that ), but shortening coaches' names makes it a lot easier...

Don't forget Tim Tivo!

To the OP...I understand your point. The worst is when coaches and/or players have the same initials as ones that graduate. So...for a short time you have no idea who the person is talking about with their acronyms.

yup the jimmy johns/ julio jones acronyms were giving me minor heart attacks

I don't like it either. Seems to be a phenomenon only found here. It's not hard to type the last name of a person. Saban, Meyer, Kiffin, etc.

If this is the worst thing you can find on the internet that upsets you then congratulations.

You mush stay on the net a lot.:) This is the only board I post on because it's kept clean. I'll say this again, and I don't want the admins or moderaters to get mad, but the things people will say on a message board that they would never say to someone's face. PM me!

i kind of like the brutal honesty people use over the internet. in this modern day of the politically correct and hypersensitive, it is refreshing to get someone's true opinion. what is the point of communication if we have to follow 30 different protocols to make sure no one gets offended by what we say?

Bevis says.................Heh.....Heh Heh, Heh, Heh ;)

I don't have a problem with it, but I do generally type out his name when referring to him in a post. I say just leave up to the poster.

If you say something nice about a coach, they wont care if you use initials.
If you say something derogatory, it won't matter if you use initials...

NBD = No big deal. ;)
