Re: Heisman finalists announced on 6pm Eastern (5pm Central) on Sportscenter ESPN2

Updated Heisman ESPN watch.

http://espn.go.com/college-football/heisman15/

So, up until this week, Henry had 9 first place votes. So, dude goes for 189 and a TD against a top-ranked Florida defense and now he has 3 first-place votes and even a 3rd and 4th place vote thrown in there. Can anybody please explain how that is even logical?
The answer to your question is no because it is not logical. But I've calmed down regarding this after seeing the Vegas numbers. I wasn't willing to buy the "espn just trying to hype the ratings" angle, because I was seeing other media swinging to the Stanford guy too. But, I'm staring to believe it now after hearing what Vegas is saying.

Henry has won. ESPN is just trying to create suspense.

Btw, IMO, to compare DH's tot offense vs CM's is misleading since DM's consist almost entirely of rushing.

But it really doesn't matter Derrick Henry has rightfully won the Heisman trophy.

(Besides who would be crazy enough to give it to a white RB 😊 Just kidding.)

Let's say

Prospect A has 2,700 yards with 30 touchdowns and 2 ints. He plays in Big Ten. SOS is #50

Prospect B: Rushed for 2,343 yards and 30 touchdown. Plays in PAC League. SOS is #27

Prospect C: 1,578 yards with 10 touchdown, 8 ints, but has 1,200 rushing yards with 20 touchdowns. Plays in SEC. SOS# 5

All are named finalist.

Who do you think ESPN, USA Today and other sites pick?

Who do you think Vegas will lend toward?

Hard to believe that we will have two HT winners after so many years without one.

Maybe this will make you feel better. I'm on twitter, and I'm reading Paul Finebaum's tweet and here's couple that stands out:
-Joe Tessitore's Heisman prediction based on historical analysis and voting trends:
1. Derrick henry
2. Christian Mccaffrey
3. Deshaun Watson.

-Joe Tessitore says all 3 at HeismanTrophy finalist in 2015 would'v ewon the trophy in 2009 over Mark Ingram.

ESPN did the same thing with Ingram and people still believe he shouldn't have won it. I hope they watched his acceptance speech and realized he truly deserved it. Such an emotional speech.

And it is said. I'm not taking anything away from Toby Gerhart but Mark should have won the Maxwell too. When people start looking at just stats and not the games played you have to think what's wrong with these people, are they blind?

This award is a joke. They don't even wait until the season is over, or until the biggest games against the best opponents on the biggest stages have been played. The Heisman Trust needs to put away the EGO and give the award out in mid January.

In my opinion, I think we need to wait until all conference championship games are played.

Jamelle Hill just said that Henry feels like a "default Heisman" winner.

A lot of you hate Kannell or Galloway, and I really dislike them myself, but it pales in comparison when it comes to her. I've never ever liked her since the day she was hired at ESPN and wishes Disney would let her go. Some of you may not know who she is but it seems she never has anything good to say about Bama and never will. I've let it be known to her that I don't like her and we actually had an argument before because of her flawed logic. But "default?" She's lucky I don't tweet anymore.

Really? That is definitely great news for Henry.

That site that used to predict the Heisman winner every year said that - most votes were cast the week before the conference championship games. I believe it used to be true, and probably still is. That is one of the main reasons that I believe that Henry wins this thing.

But we can't be sure that this is still the case with the college football playoff. More people are interested in the conference championship games than ever before because of their relevance. It might have changed the voting habits of some.
