Re: Heisman finalists announced on 6pm Eastern (5pm Central) on Sportscenter ESPN2

Anyone noticed the pattern of the winner of the Doak Award and Heisman Award? I noticed that the winner of Doak Award tends to be a player who didn't win Heisman Trophy.... Reggie Bush was the last one to do so, and I know it's vacated, but still...

DH should win simply because he looks more like the statue then the rest.

It's Henry, McCaffrey, and Watson. IMO these 3 are heads above the others, so I agree with only 3 invitations. If we set aside our bias the truth is this is as even a top 3 as we've had in a while. A very good argument could be made for any of these 3 winning the Heisman.
I don't see it so even. I think Henry is above both. I'm not being biased. I'm looking at the numbers.

I've set aside my bias and still disagree whole-heartedly. Watson and McCaffrey are fine players but Derrick Henry has had a transcendent year: breaking the all time SEC rushing record and becoming the first SEC back to break 2000 yards. He has done this against a schedule that includes 11 bowl teams. His lowest carries and yards were against MTSU 18-96, ULM 13-52, Cha So 9 - 68 (only exception was Ark 95 yds). That's an avg of 13 carries for 72 yds. He rushed for an avg of 180 yds against SEC competition, saving his best typically for the most important games, including 210 against LSU, 271 AU, 189 UF in SECC game. A total of 4 200 yds games against SEC competition. No gratuitous yards. No bias here.

It will truly be a travesty if he doesn't win.

Henry was spoon fed through November what he needed to do and surpassed them each time, leaving Herchel records in his wake, for icing on the cake! His loss would make a mockery out of media involvement, which I believe the Downtown Club appreciates.

I think DH will win it, but it will be by like my grandmother used to say by the skin of his teeth. Outside the Deep South,it would appear that there is little support for him and even our region is fractured when you consider DW.

The best thing about this Heisman(besides Henry hopefully winning it) is that these three guys aren't thugs unlike a few of the past recent winners.

Brad is a voter and he is saying he thinks Henry will win it. Me thinks he voted for Henry ;)
