It's media hype. What does it matter if Texas Tech go to No. 1? The important thing is that Bama is No. 1 in the final pole. I mean Okalhoma State is not chopped liver and Tech seems to be playing very well.

Just heard him on the TT vs OSU game predict TT to overtake Bama in polls if TT finishes this game like they've started it. What do ya'll think?

It will not happen. A win on the Road in the SEC against a good team (yes LSU is still a good team) when your #1 already, you will not loose your top ranking. It's not going to happen.

If LSU had not played a great game, then maybe...

but with LSU giving Alabama everything they had, with all of the distractions and drama, in addition to winning the game in Overtime, Alabama should not get jumped in the polls -- besides Texas Tech is playing @ home and we just beat the defending National Champions @ home -- breaking a five game losing streak!

Alabama should not be jumped in the polls,

With a big Tech win (and they are up by 21 over #9) then we probably will get jumped. If not, our lead will definitely shorten if Tech keeps hammering out points. They make it look so easy too. :eek2:

But, if we keep on and face a ~#3 Florida team in the SEC championship game, a win will put us squarely at #1.

It has been a great season regardless. We can sit at #2 as long as we keep winning. It just wouldn't surprise me to be jumped. :mad2:

So let them jump us. We have to win out to go to the NC anyway. If we win out, we go to the NC as one or two. Either way, we're there. But we have State, The Barn and (I assume) Florida to worry about before we even get to thinking about that.

There's still a lot of football left to play, and like Coach says, the only polls that matter are the ones at the end of the season.

Who cares? Texas Tech will lose next week against Oklahoma anyways...after we take care of Ms State, we'll jump back up to #1.

The spread was 3 and we covered, so I don't see why we should drop in the polls but if we win out it won't matter because we we have to be in one of the top 2 spots.

I just heard the same thing on the USC/Cal game (which is only 10-3 USC in the 4th) and I think it will happen. Just like someone said it doesn't matter because if Bama and Florida wins out then the SEC champ winner is there no matter what.

Actually, Herbie just said he would leave Bama #1, and winning on the road at LSU in a close game should not hurt them. I tend to agree with the sentiment that it really don't matter much.
