lol

UA football will never compete for championships again if the majority of the roster isn't from Alabama. We've never won a championship when at least 30+% of the roster wasn't from Alabama

Majority were from Michigan for UM last year and majority are from Ohio this year for OSU

Is KD scared to go head to head with Freeze and Kirby in state and Ga
Moo.

Something that is weird is that all of this is being presented about an Auburn dominance of state recruiting without acknowledging that Alabama still has a better recruiting class even without Ryan Williams being on his original recruiting class. I mean imagine the headlines had he been in the 25 class… I mean that would mean that Freeze couldn’t land either the top 2 in state guys.

The truth is that most of the umpf from the 25 Alabama State recruiting list left when Ryan reclassified. Offord was more or less the big fish but eliminated both Alabama and Auburn early in the process and wanted Ohio State or Oregon. Auburn did very good with what was left in state but let’s stop acting like they just pulled the 2008 Alabama class.

I think the in state recruits have been important for a number of reasons, for one they hate Auburn and Tennessee. (I assume or they would have gone there). Secondly Alabama recruits have a tendency to over play their star ratings in general. Check the high number of players in the NFL from the state despite the Alabama population being relatively low.

Having said all that NIL changes all the rules. You can recruit in state all you want but everyone is going to lose 50% or more of those players in 12 months when they do not become immediate All Americans and then blame the coaching staff instead of themselves. (only to go be backups some where else).

I have no idea how to win in this atmosphere. It's easy to say that Ohio State has figured it out but have they? If they can sustain it then yes, but this atmosphere could put a Natty winner out of the top 20 pretty fast.

There are only 39% of in-state players on our 2020 team, yet we somehow won a NC. https://rolltide.com/sports/football/roster/2020

And about 37% on the 2017 team:
LOL! I asked @johnbt specifically what his count was for the 2020 team in an earlier post after mentioning that the majority of the team was from out-of-state. Nothing but got ...🦗 🦗 🦗
