for obvious reasons. any suggestions?
Not too sound too old school to you young friend or be a party pooper, but I think YOU getting your education is much more important than what guys decide to sign too play football at Alabama. You might want too use that education some day to get a decent job to support yourself and a family. Some football player signing with Bama, being good enough to go on to the pros, make millions, ain't gonna put a dime in your pocket. Go to school, and come home and find out who did and did not sign. Your skipping school and lurking on the Internet to see who signed is not going to make one bit of difference in who does and does not commit to Bama. But, it could make a difference in your passing or failing a course.

Do you have computers in your school library? If so, volunteer to work in the library some tomorrow.

99% of students could pass high school in their sleep. Missing one day of classes wont be the difference between passing and failing. Go easy on the kid, this day only happens once a year :) Also, apparently getting your education has nothing to do with getting a decent job and supporting a family. I'm currently delivering pizza's with a B.S. in Social Science and a minor in Geography. The girl I work with is making pizza's with her Nursing Degree. Sorry if I sound bitter about education, but it's been a rough year out of college, especially for most recent graduates.

Really? I guess that is why 1 in 3 students now days FAIL to grad HS. Some school districts have a grad rate of 21%. 33.3% drop out rates is not very good. Apparently some portion of your 99.9% is wrong. Not to rain on your parade, but I did not have a college degree. I only had 2 years of college, and earned those hours while on active duty in the military. I am nearly 58 years old my friend. I RETIRED at age 55. My wife is retired also. We have been for several years now. She just now only started getting social security. We both have retirement incomes from 401k plans and my military retirement. My JOB SKILLS determined if I would make it or not. I know some who went to college and majored in areas that simply do not translate into jobs. While having a college degree is better, what you choose to major in does not say that you are going to walk into some $75,000 per year job. When I quit my job to retire, I was making $55,800 per year. That with a high school education, 2 years of college, and JOB SKILLS AND JOB TRAINING in something that translated into a career. Oh, by the way, from the fourth grade until I walked off with my HS degree, I missed ONE day of school. My mother sent me too school sick, lame or lazy. I was not allowed to SKIP school.

Go to school. You can find out who signed after.

Oh, and get off the computer and go and do your studies for tomorrow.

Wow, take it easy, I didn't know I had said anything that would ruffle your feathers. 99% of high school students could pass in their sleep. However, many drop out or only show up half the time. Missing one day isn't going to make someone fail. I never said I should have a 75,000 dollar job waiting on me once I graduated college. If you look over my post, I don't think I insinuated that in any way. All I said was getting a good education is not a guarantee for good job, which from reading your post, sounds like we agree on. So I'm not really sure what part of what I said ruffled your feathers so much. The unemployment rate for people my age is more than double what it is for people over 30. It's a rough time in America, but it's an even rougher time for young America. The most educated generation of Americans in the history of our country is also the most unemployed. Forgive us for being a little upset.

Like you said, most students that don't pass high school is because they drop out or lazy, not because they physically can't.

Now on topic, agree to not miss a day the rest of the year. Or agree to do some chores or say you really want to spend time with your Dad.
You could argue that everyone will be so off-task at school because of signing day it will be a waste of school day. Keep bringing up more and more random reasons and they will eventually cave.

If all else fails, simply find a coach and he will most likely be keeping up with it, and go to his room between classes. We did this for March Madness when I was in high school. Some teachers even let us have the TV on.
