Someone at church saw my Bama t-shirt last week and said to me Go Tide! I looked had him with a smile and said Roll Tide! He's not familiar with Bama at all. We had a laugh when I explained to him it's Go Bama, Roll Tide! :hurray:
We had a family of Horns fans in our home this past weekend. They were talking smack all day Saturday. They had quieted down a bit after watching Bama beat MSU into the turf. They are pretty excited about the match-up and think that Bama is a greater threat to them, with their style of play, than Florida...It actually happens here in Texas more than you would think. I usually respond with a GO BAMA! Mainly for the benefit of those around who wouldn't understand otherwise. You can't sling a cat out here without hitting a Longhorn fan so it's even more fun right now. Once they hear GO BAMA! they want to talk about the BCSCG.
Mine is usually something along the line of "Roll Tide, brother!"
Not often I run into Bama fans in Hermitage Tennessee though.
This has not been my experience at all. I get a lot of Roll Tide's when I wear my jersey on game day or when I am wearing various gear on other days of the week. I always give a hearty Roll Tide in response. Granted, I also get some (mostly good-natured) comments from UT fans as well."Roll Tide" or "Yep."
Just to note: 97% of the time someone says "roll tide" to me, they are of an older generation. The term is losing popularity as a greeting and I don't think it's that big a deal.
NY, I've been getting the same response here. They seem to worry more about BAMA's power run game than the FL spread. I think we beat FL, but I'm not sure they realize the power with which FL runs that spread. When they think spread, they think TX Tech.We had a family of Horns fans in our home this past weekend. Dude... they are all over the place in Orlando -- I'm talking EVERYWHERE!I used to just do a simple head nod because you aren't used to Alabama fans in Florida. I now say "Roll Tide" right back to them. In Florida, there are more Alabama fans than you would expect.
