I'm not interested in running the numbers myself, but I recall a poster on another board who totaled up all the players, from rFR-rSr, of every team in the SEC and was surprised to see that even Alabama is 'younger' than the barn. IIRC the barn is in the top third of the SEC wrt the average age of their starters...

INSIDE INFORMATION!

They aren't developing players, they aren't retaining players because of grades or cross ups with the law, and they aren't calling good games on Saturdays. Pure and simple, Auburn's problems are self-inflicted and could have been mitigated. Their current regime inherited a decently veteran program, they knew building depth for when the turnover came would be important. They recruited guys who were high risk and got burned.

Forgive me, I must amend my above statement. In my old age, my memory isn't what it used to be, the barn is extremely young - I think they're starting 20 freshman this year alone - and Jim just needs a little more time. Like 10 years. And they probably need to lock him in with a $20+ million contract, just to be safe.

Easily 20 mil. His stock has been raising rapidly. Proven winner.

Hard to tell . they have had a high attrition rate due arrests, suspensions , grades and I think someone left the Barn door open.

If by 'young' you mean 'weak, limp-wristed, light-weight, cross-dressing, ne'er-do-wells', then they are extremely 'young'

All I hear at work from barners is that they are young.
Can someone please legitimize this claim?
Auburn is indeed 'Young'... They've been 'young' for years and years.
It's code words for players not being coached up to play.
It's code words for 'We don't expect much'...

'Were Young' is the top excuse on their play list.
('The Dog ate my homework' is second on their list...)
Fear not... Auburn has a plan. Fire the Assistants.
They use this plan every year, it keeps them from firing incompetent head coaches.
