You’re absolutely right. But my central point is that the decision to replace a coach has two components  the decision to remove the incumbent and the far more important decision on who his replacement should be. If you don’t get both components right, you run a big risk of ending up worse off than you were.You can make the right decision and still get a poor outcome.
Based on three games and untold chaos, it would appear that we flubbed the second component and are now worse off than if we had begged BOB to stay.
FTR  I’m not saying we should have kept BOB. I’m saying that this is a great example of the fact that hiring any new coach has a crapshoot aspect to it. Looks like the shooter rolled boxcars.
