Exactly. Although Reggie Bush was the most overhyped athlete to recently come out of college.
umm...cough cough...um Tim Tebow anyone....

I don't think Luck is overrated at all.
You're doing it to, comparing him to Drew Brees and Peyton.... I think we got Favre here to, but seriously? That's a lot of hype...He's not 'Overrated'... but his PR campaign in running hard promoting him for the 'Heisman'.
In my book he may be this year's best QB. prospect...
Luck's a sure first round pick in the NFL, he has all the tools.
Does he make a few mistakes? Does Peyton Manning or
Drew Breeze?
The answer is yes to does he make a few mistakes.
The answer is no to 'Is he Overrated?...
And he came back for his senior year....to finish his degree in architecture.
Pffft. You obviously haven't been listening to the media. Stanford a complete team.No. He's not playing with 5 star receivers, backs, and linemen. That USC team will send more people to the NFL than that Stanford team will. Luck is leading a team with talent comparable to a Northwestern to a possible NC. Don't get me wrong, Harbaugh really coached that group up. But Luck is the ring leader.

Yes, he might be the best quarterback in this year's class. Yes, he's a sure fire first round pick.
But they are acting like he's the best quarterback in three classes (or more) and well, comparing him to great quarterbacks. He's got a long way to go before he's compared to Peyton or Drew. I remember Leinart having a similar level of hype at one point...

Don't get me wrong, he is a phenomenal QB, but IMO, with the all hype they've given him, it's impossible not to be overrated.
It wasn't just you though, and you did just infer that Luck might be in their class. Another poster brought up Peyton and Favre. I mean I understand it, but my point is we are kind of brainwashed into putting Luck on these tremendously lofty pedestals and it's hype pure and simple.Re-read my post... I asked if Peyton or Drew ever made a mistake. I didn't infer that Luck was in the same class. Give him 5-6 years and he may or may not be in their class.
umm...cough cough...um Tim Tebow anyone....

The conspiracy theorist in me makes me wonder about the state of affairs in Indianapolis when their franchise QB is getting older/injured and one of the best QB prospect in years is coming out this year...![]()
I'll do you one better....wanna know what made Luck go back for his senior season? A conversation with Peyton Manning. Wouldn't it be ironic if Luck winds up being his successor after he was the one to convince him to return for his senior campaign?
