Is the SEC overrated this year?

So far I can tell you that the rest of college football seems to be improving. Some SEC teams may be moving backwards as well.

I thought LSU was overrated anyway. Tennessee as well. I knew starkvegas would be bad without Dak. but everyone has looked really much worse than I thought.

I think it might just be a QB problem more than anything. But Wisconsin and Appalachian State both won the battle of the LOS and that is a disappointing development.

Based strictly on first game observations so far, yes. Lots of football left though.

I never liked first games anyway because no one is really ready to play the way they will after several games. I think the media has a lot to do with over hyping teams as well. I don't think we (SEC) is over rated but every SEC team needs to realize that you have a target on your back. Beating an SEC team means a lot to other conferences.

This looks like it could be the worst week for the SEC West I can recall. In terms of the Miss. St. loss, it's difficult to explain how much that hurts statistically, but losing to a really low ranked team hurts way more than beating a top ranked team helps. If you have a week in which almost every SEC West team loses, the polls and the pundits will both come down harshly on them and justifiably so. Who has looked good so far?

Having said that, I've always hated that the SEC undercuts itself with the signing limit. They are the only conference with that particular rule and you do have to wonder at what point the price is to be paid for what is in essence putting the entire conference under sanctions. That's not why the SEC looked like it did today, but it darn sure doesn't help.

On the plus side, might be our easiest road to the NC yet. Barring how we play against USC of course.

It would appear that it may be.
LSU's offense is not worthy of a #5 ranking. Harris is a lukewarm mess.
Mississippi State without Dak Prescott is back to being the Mississippi State that we've always known.
Arkansas may eke out a victory, but it'll be close.
A&M seems bound and determined to let UCLA back into the game.
Georgia's in a tussle.
We need to put USC to the sword.
