The Iranians have had this coming since the late 1970’s. They can’t have a nuclear weapon….ever.
Are you referring to the mess us and the British created in the 70’s? Iran is the way it is because the West sought to exploit it after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. What could have been an ally to counterbalance the Saudis is now a theocratic dictatorship that will constantly stoke fires in order to maintain enough chaos to make its people forget about all the progress they have made against the theocratic nightmare by resisting it.

Israel bombing Iran only benefited one person… the Ayatollah. Because now he can pivot from the hijab riots and say “See Israel and America are trying to kill us”. The Iranian government is one of the worst governments in the world however it’s sad that they rule some of the best people in the world with an iron fist. But dictatorships and authoritarian regimes rarely care about collateral damage and the Persian people have to constantly suffer every day because of it.

As far as nukes… I think the fact that Pakistan and India have nukes is far scarier than the potential Iran ever gets one. I know why people fear Iran having nukes generally comes down to the potential of terrorists getting them… however the fact that the collapse of the Soviet Union didn’t result in one nuke falling in the hands of the mob or extremists units kinda hurts that argy. Really check out the documentary “operation odessa” on Netflix. You would be shocked at the crap the Russian mob sold to the cartels after the collapse. But never a nuke.

Reported last night that Hamas agents on the ground in Iran were highly instrumental in the success of targeting key Iranian leadership. Also reported that Israel had smuggled drones into Iran that were activated. It could well be that some of the targeted individuals could have been hit by drones with guidance within Iran.

I think it's all part of Mossad's strategy - to make their enemies know that they are being tracked, that, if they want to get to them, they will.

I have to think that every mullah and iranian general had to have their heads on a swivel after the way Israel took out the nuke scientist with a remote-control machine gun, and the Hamas guy who was killed by a bomb in an Iranian chalet, planted months before.

Yet, they were still naive enough to have their top brass lured to one place, only to be executed en masse.

Playing 3D chess to Iran's tic-tac-toe.

I have to believe they have double-agents infiltrated into the upper echelons of Iranian military and govt. Sort of like the spy who spent years embedded in Damascus.

Kind of a naive take imho. India and Pakistan would use their bombs on each other, which isn't a great thing obviously, but Iran? They'd lob some over into Israel in a second. And they'd put some on US as soon as they can develop a hypersonic missile (or buy one from the ChiComms). Those idiots, regardless of how they came to power, can NEVER be allowed to have nukes. And if it takes some of our ordnance dropped from some of our B-2's then so be it.

What most don’t understand about nuclear weapons is how expensive it is to make them and how much of your resources it takes to make just one. Meaning it’s not just some bomb you make and drop and make another. It’s truly a last result bomb that goes with the guarantee that your economy and much of your military might is going to suffer immensely when you use.

More or less, if people like the Paks and Indians haven’t blown each other to kingdom come, and Kim hasn’t bombed the South then there really isn’t any reasonable belief that Iran would waste a bomb on Israel and the United States knowing full well that they would seize to exist after they did it. The Revolutionary government’s goal is to stay in power and spread fear that the Arabs, Sunnis, Turks, and Zionists are coming to kill them. They know full well where they stand in the Middle East even if they say the opposite.

You have to admire Mossad. With this and the exploding pagers a few years ago.

The diff is that Iran is motivated by religion (of pieces).

They cannot have a nuke. Not one.

“We are in a dangerous moment. I’m sorry that diplomacy did not work,” says former top US diplomat
@wendyrsherman, who helped negotiate the 2015 nuclear deal. “If Donald Trump had not withdrawn from the original JCPOA, we would not be here.”
"If Donald Trump had not withdrawn from a bad deal my boss never should have agreed to" is not the win some folks think it is.

On this side trail - I understand Dr. Nichols is a Republican (one who - wait for it - left the party over Trump), and yes this is ten years old. But he was never an instinctive critic of President Obama, either, and he repeatedly is telling the Twitterati they don't have the first clue what they're talking about. This is his assessment in 2015 on the Iran nuke deal that - in the "Blame Trump" chorus - caused this:

Enough Is Enough: Time to Ditch the Iran Nuclear Talks - The National Interest

It’s time to walk away from the Iran negotiations. They have failed in their purpose, and they are putting stress not only our alliances but on our own politics beyond whatever worth there may be in a nominal deal at this point. We had one goal – to extinguish Iran’s ability to build a nuclear weapon – and we will not achieve it. Is the “process” really worth the price now?
