It's Officially Tennessee Week

Geography played a large role in my deeper dislike for the University of Auburn. I would add what GrayTide mentioned about age probably plays a part too. That and the mix of people I was raised in. The U. of Auburn fans in my growing up days made life hard for Bama fans because of they were the majority, estimate around 10:1. I'm talking south central Alabama here. It was a hotbed of Barn fans and not many Bama fans. Tennessee wasn't the name that evoked the disgust in Alabama people, it was the Barn. The 10RC game was a more respectful opponent for us back then, until Phul Fillmer came on the scene. He brought much of the hatred for UT with him.

Maybe some Tidefans members lived or were raised in the southern part of the state back in the 50s or 60s can relate to my experiences.

You know I can relate. In those days (1960's) there were very few Alabama fans south of Montgomery, probably more like south of Birmingham. Also during those days the Alabama - UT rivalry, while very intense, was mostly civil, plus in a lot of those years the SEC champion came out of that game. IMO Coach Bryant had a great deal of respect for UT and what the game meant historically for both schools.

The Fulmer era is what really stoked the hatred fires between Alabama and UT. I do not believe any Alabama fan will forget or forgive what he and others tried to do to the Alabama football program, even as low class and vile as that was I still harbor more ill will against au and always will. My biggest regret is that Fulmer was forced out, because it would give me more pleasure in what will happen this coming Saturday in T-Town.

Personally, I hope Saban has to apologize to Dooley because the score is so high most of the TN fans can't count that high.

I know we're going to take a monumental whipping Sat. You guys have a team that looks unstoppable to me. I've seen two of your games and was at the LSU game, and it's clear you will beat LSU. I keep hearing a few ESPN talking heads say Oklahoma deserves number 1 or 2 and i say Bull{crap} to that. They don't know what it's like facing SEC teams week in week out.

Also, contrary to popular belief, not all TN fans liked Phillip Fulmer. Honestly i couldn't stand him and wanted him gone for years. Also, i agree what he tried to do to your program sucks. Wrong is wrong no matter what, and that was seriously wrong. Not all of us want a team buried, we just want all of the SEC teams to compete at the highest level, and take on all comers, from outside the conference and win the title each and every year.

That's my honest take. Looking forward to the game, even though it's going to be ugly for us.

I have lived in Tennessee all my life and all my friends are vol fans so this game has more meaning to me I want Bama to beat UThug so bad, I was at the game last year in Knoxville and I just loved singing rammer Jammer in that garbage truck worker convention stadium lol and this will be my first trip to Tuscaloosa ever so I am hoping for Bama to just beat UThug very badly ROLL TIDE
