I think this game showed us why he is the starter. He is a patient runner. Makes sense why the coaching staff was so high on him in the offseason.
The OL opened holes for him and he found them. Something we really haven't done (at least not well) under DeBoer when playing anyone of significance.I think this game showed us why he is the starter. He is a patient runner. Makes sense why the coaching staff was so high on him in the offseason.
I believe our run game was hampered the last couple years because defenses were going after Milroe. Lots of blitzing and loading the box. They were bent on stopping Milroe's run. And it hurt our run game in general. The OL opened holes for him and he found them. Something we really haven't done (at least not well) under DeBoer when playing anyone of significance.
Not to reshash this but milroe could not operate across the middle of the field. This led to teams feeling confident in sending LBers on a blitz because he hadn’t shown the ability to make them pay for it. Flip the script and Ty was 8/11 against the blitz yesterday with I wanna say 150 yards. He did have the one int but I think that was more of a one off.I believe our run game was hampered the last couple years because defenses were going after Milroe. Only the folks who had Vandy plus the spread.Did no one tell Jam he was only supposed to run out the clock, not scamper for a touchdown?
He's likely to rush for100+ several times this season.I posted in the game thread and didn’t get to follow up on it, but this was only Jam’s second game to eclipse 100 yards in his Bama career. I understand that’s because Milroe got most the rushing yards the past 2 seasons, but that stat still kinda blows my mind.
Saw an analysis of the INT that said the TE ran the wrong route and dragged his coverage right into the play to put them in position for the INT.Not to reshash this but milroe could not operate across the middle of the field. Kirby highlighted it also he sent the blitz and had free rushers and he made them pay for it multiple times.
