The james Lang saga just won't go away. It now appears that his mother has taken charge of the recruiting. She's even hired an attorney, and it looks like she's gotten Ken Harris out of the picture. (Whatever happens, I hope that Harris is gone, for Lang's sake. ) She has said that James will take all of his visits and that his recruitment is wide open.

That being said, I still think that James ends up in the NBA next year. There appear to be serious academic issues to be resolved before he can qualify, some say that it is next to impossible that he will qualify. If he goes to college, Louisville is his choice. It isn't clear who mama likes best. If, and it is a huge if, he becomes eligible and decides that he wants to come to Bama, it is a sure thing that we'd find a schollie for him, even though we already have three commitments for next year. Taylor is our only commitment who looks like he could be a 5, and he seems to be more of a 4. Davidson looks like a 4, while Atkins seems to be a small 4 or big 3. We really haven't had a true center type since Roy Rogers.

You are so right about the Lang story, just never is laid to rest.

Momma Lang repeatedly said during the Summer that James will take his visits and his recruitment is "wide open". On the other hand, Lang says over and over that he is going to U of L. Go figure.

Lang has some major academic work to complete before he can play college basketball anywhere at the Div. 1 level. Have heard all kinds of rumors that he is scurrying around to catch up on his school work.

Like you, I think it's no better than 50/50 that Lang will ever play a day of college ball. And, if he does, because of his academic situation, we won't know anything for sure until the Spring. If he can qualify, a lot can change in six months. So, I don't consider Lang a "lock" for Louisville or any school.

Just thought you guys would be interested: Central Park Christian just won a tournament in Nashville over the weekend, dominating the field. James Lang was the tournament MVP.

Lets stay away from anybody named "Lang".
