Texas writer reported it. Burroughs may be a Longhorn.
You’d think after Agiye Hall and Jahleel Billingsley, they’d learn.

There is no one so blind as he who doesn’t want to see.

BTW — This would indicate that Tsouklas’ initial report has far more truth than speculation. I’m glad Burroughs is gone.

I hope the NCAA will deny the waiver. They need to get this under control, so why not start now. This is certainly not a hardship situation.
I hope so, too.

I also hope that the lottery ticket Mrs. Basket Case bought in Atlanta a few weeks ago hits. And that I wake up tomorrow having bought Amazon in 2005. And that I bought Apple when they fired Steve Jobs. And that I wake up tomorrow at age 25, knowing what I know now.

All of that has about the same chance of actually happening.

If he’s announced he’s entering the portal we’re done with him, right?
No food, no weight room…head home, now!
🤬
The fact that you can get kicked off your team and transfer right away and there are zero consequences is the real issue…why should these kids care?
They’ll be treated like kings somewhere else…
“You left Bama!!!”
This is what will eventually kill my love for the game.
Funny you should post this now. I was thinking this just yesterday. I`ve followed and been ardent fan of Alabama football ( college ball in general, actually ) since Coach Bryant first came to Alabama. My whole family has been staunch fans for many years. I find that ardor waning now. Maybe some of it has to do with advancing age, I`m not sure. But I AM sure that a major part of it has to do with the changes ( NIL, portal, lack of apparent dedication and consequences, etc., etc). Even as a UA graduate, just don`t feel the same connection as in years and seasons past.

Seems like a player hitting a coach would be basis to deny a transfer waiver.

How can a player essentially be rewarded for this kind of behavior?

But we are talking about the NCAA here.

Maybe Saban sent word to the NZAA to please give him the waiver. Maybe it was Saban's suggestion for him to hit the portal, rather than get kicked off the team. I haven't seen any news from the school about that.

If a player hits a coach I don’t think it should be a consideration no matter who wants it to happen.

He’s lucky he didn’t get arrested and charged with battery.

If a normal student hit a professor they’d be expelled, likely arrested and charged with a crime, and their ability to immediately transfer with little to no repercussions would be nonexistent.

These star athletes already have privileges far beyond what regular students have.

Enough is enough for me with this stuff.

I don`t know how much this would apply in Burrough`s case, but when a sense of entitlement is coupled with a low threshold for when someone feels put upon and develops an attitude of being indignant, you got a problem. I think that can apply to individuals and societies as a whole. Many seem to take themselves entirely too seriously and are looking for an excuse to be " offended ". Too many wussies.
Too many of our children and grandchildren have not been raised to be " tough " in the world, and haven`t been taught how to take responsibility and have an expectation of overcoming adversity.

He’s not getting a waiver. The ncaa just passed stricter waiver guidelines this year. He’s transferring bc he’s either not willing to do the punishment or he’s being shown the door. Either way he’s someone else’s problem now. Hope he does go to Texas and eats up a scholarship and never plays and poisons their locker room

I hope you’re right. Given the NCAA’s history of acting with conviction and enforcing its own rules, though, I’ll be surprised.

He doesnt really deserve a waiver, and honestly he doesnt deserve much of anything.............he can be someone else's problem. Probably felt he has done nothing to be punished for................adios. If he goes to Texas, may he ride the pine

You have to be in the portal during the open periods unless you’re a graduate transfer. Also Texas will be sec next year so he wouldn't have been able to play there next year anyways with the sec transfer portal rules

Hopefully Khurtiss Perry along with James Smith can make a big impact.
Anyone got any info on Perry and how he is coming along?? I know he redshirted last year but he was pretty highly rated coming out of high school.
No inside info but if the weight listed on the roster is accurate, and there were a lot of updates this spring so it likely is, I wouldn't see him playing much of a role. At 265 he's just not big enough to be in the rotation for one of the DL spots. Maybe, just maybe, he could fit a small role on the outside in pure passing downs, but that would mean taking an OLB off the field and that group is so deep with talented pass rushers I just don't see that happening much.

I don’t want what I am about to say to come off as nasty or disrespectful to the kid at all. But if what you say is true why did we recruit him at defensive line??? Like this is a real question not meant out of spite. He has been in the program for almost 2 years. I have a hard time believing he is not bigger than 265 by now.
